so will comedians now have to watch themselves b/c some heckler or person in the front row doesn't like what they hear and want to be the next will smith? guess everyone needs to be a legit black belt like joe rogan to do standup. such a size diff too, would he still walk up & do that if it was dwayne johnson cracking that joke? interesting all the news has been about the war but then 1 celebrity slap at an award show has totally eclipsed my newsfeed. what a world we live in. |

really bizarre... WS first laughed at the joke then lost his shit? the way CR had his hands behind his back, with his upper body slightly leaning forward, it looked as if he knew what was coming and got himself ready for it, WS walking back to his seat with small smirk on his face, I thought it was part of the joke.... |
If it was real ... CR did a great job finishing up his presentation !! He didn't seem thrown off by it at all ... hmmmmmm. |

^ haha ... It's funny how Biden got into trouble by saying 'Putin cannot stay in power'. Not sure the diplomatic rule but hell, you mean to tell me that no President or Prime Minister can say during WWII that Hitler needs to go ??!! Biden saying what every leader (except maybe 3) is thinking ... assassinate the SOB. |
I guess it wasn't an act aftreall ... an official apology by Smith's publicist Violence in all of its forms is poisonous and destructive. My behavior at last night’s Academy Awards was unacceptable and inexcusable. Jokes at my expense are a part of the job, but a joke about Jada’s medical condition was too much for me to bear and I reacted emotionally. I would like to publicly apologize to you, Chris. I was out of line and I was wrong. I am embarrassed and my actions were not indicative of the man I want to be. There is no place for violence in a world of love and kindness. I would also like to apologize to the Academy, the producers of the show, all the attendees and everyone watching around the world. I would like to apologize to the Williams Family and my King Richard Family. I deeply regret that my behavior has stained what has been an otherwise gorgeous journey for all of us. I am a work in progress. Sincerely, Will |

Seemed pretty thrown off to me |

He should've apologized to Chris when he went up to accept his award, or at least in a video format on Instagram. I hate these photo-texts apologies. For all we know, it could've been his publicist. |
It was a bizarre incident. Why did WS elect to slap CR instead of punch? If I was that pissed off at a male, my first reaction would be to punch, not slap. Maybe if I was doing that to a female, I would slap… |
Ok Ike Turner |

have you seen those slap competitions where ppl get KO'd? open palm strikes are quite effective, and there's quite a size differential between the 2. i'm impressed how chris took it. i'd take a few seconds even if i was on live TV to recover as well. may not have been pretty but at least he kept the show/flow going to present the next one. |
Secondary market for tickets to Chris Rock’s upcoming comedy tour is charging much more for his show. Before Smith’s slap on Rock: $46 for the cheapest ticket in TickPick. Post-Slap: $341 is the cheapest ticket on TickPick. https://nationalpost.com/news/world/...ths-oscar-slap Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
everyone wanting to hear the new will smith material? |
I'm thinking he slapped him as opposed to punching him simply due to optics. It's funny though, people don't realize how effective a palm strike is, most people throwing a punch to the face end up breaking their hands (even when properly trained). I really hope Will's career suffers for this though, the guy is a nutcase. What bothers me the most is that he professes "black excellence", and yet he felt no pause to slap another black man on stage in front of millions of people. So which is it Will, are you about uplifting the black man, or are you not? I guarantee you he would never have done that to a Ricky Gervais, or a Neil Patrick-Harris, not a chance. |
It's interesting seeing what stance some A/B/C/D list celebrities are taking. :Popcorn |
The Official No Need To Start a New Thread, Thread What if Will said this to Chris Rock instead at the Oscars? :lawl: #IKeepFuckingMyWifesMouth https://www.instagram.com/reel/CbtSE...um=share_sheet https://www.instagram.com/reel/CbtSE...dium=copy_link |

The Official No Need To Start a New Thread, Thread Smith’s apology on social media seems like legalese. Did his lawyers write out the apology for him? Where is the visual of the apology? I think that his apology to Chris Rock and to Academy would look more sincere if he posted a video on IG and apologize to Rock. Jim Carrey is right about Hollywood. He calls out Hollywood for being “spineless on mass” for applauding Smith after his Oscars acceptance speech. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
i assumed it was his PR team that wrote it. if he didn't want any comedians talking about them now, they took the wrong approach, you can youtube and comedians are going after him |
Rock, so far, taking the high road. |
