^ yes. I’ve done it a few times

Basically a lot of paper work etc. hopefully the aquiring side knows what they are doing, it makes it much easier

Yes, typically the acquiring side does all the leg work as long as you give them all the info. The limitations being that the account being deducted from isn't in a locked fund or termed GIC with no withdrawal.

I am stuck in that position right now because my last company's RRSP went into termed GIC and I can't move it until end of the year.

It still takes time though, typically 2-4 weeks per transfer.

Went and saw Hamilton on Thursday, if you’re interested at all it’s a pretty prime opportunity. The cast was amazing and all the leading roles were fantastic. Probably my #2 show all time

Wasn’t down with the companies mask policy though..

sonick 06-11-2022 03:23 PM

I saw it last Saturday, and was a bit let down tbh having seen the filmed version on Disney+. It truly is a huge difference in talent between the original Broadway cast and the touring company.

I enjoyed Wicked and Book of Mormon more.

Hondaracer 06-11-2022 03:58 PM

Well yea.. the broadway show is the pinnacle for any travelling show

I went with a bunch of people who are totally into broadway etc. as well as professionally trained singers and they all seemed to agree that the actor playing Alexander Hamilton here in this travelling play is actually far superior to Lin-Manuel Miranda

But yea, Book of Mormon is also my favorite of the 10-12 ive seen lol i dont think anythings going to top it

I was pretty disappointed by the people who played Aaron Burr and Angelica. Was quite hard to hear what they were saying.

Alexander Hamilton, Eliza, and the big guy in Alexander Hamilton's group of friends were good.

Yea funny you say that I thought the same about Angelica. Not sure if it’s the way she speaks or what but it was very hard to make it out

Anyone good with Chinese that can find a cheaper source for this stool? I tried looking, but came up short. I like it since it's a copy of an official Taito arcade stool, but no way in hell I'm paying $150 with shipping for one.

This is the Chinese on the box. I tried looking everywhere including Baidu, but my girlfriend thinks it's some fake company, lol.

Holy Uhura's Earpiece............... your post reminded me of Pachinko, for whatever reason. I have two genuine Pachinko machines somewhere in storage. Damn, time to dig 'em out. Oh, guess I'll be looking for the stool, too. Perhaps a refurbished one straight from Japan.

Hamilton was amazing! Saw it on Thursday as well and it was a packed house.

Anyone import a car from USA to Canada without paying US taxes?

If someone has a link or discussion thread pinned somewhere, would be appreciated

Looking at picking up a car from BAT or private sale

BAT > winning bid > seller is paid > car is loaded on a trailer > crosses border > I pay taxes then go through inspection etc
Just need to convince seller to load it while it's still in their name?

Private sale > I would need to fly down there, put it on a trailer myself.
Any way to drive the car over the border without transferring the title = having to pay USA tax?

68style 06-12-2022 08:35 PM

You don’t need to transfer the title or pay taxes on a private sale I have bought many cars in the USA. You do need to provide the title and export document to US customs 72 business hours before you try to import it into Canada and stop on the US side first to clear that with them… at no point are you registering the car down there.

You just get them to sign the title and then it’s your car. Need a bill of sale too. That’s where the whole idea of “pink slips” comes from in drag racing. They even leave their plates on the car in USA. If you try to go to a DMV down there they’ll just look at you sideways and say there’s nothing to do.

You can even drive it to the border if you want if you buy what is called a “binder of insurance” from ICBC.

There’s also a sticky at the top of the Vancouver Auto Chat section too it’s pretty old but most of the info should still be correct

So old growth protesters were blocking the highway to the ferry terminal this morning, and this happened:

Karma bitch!

MarkyMark 06-13-2022 08:58 AM

A ladder made out of old growth wouldn't have snapped like that

Gumby 06-13-2022 09:03 AM

LOL how does erecting a ladder to nowhere help with their blockade? :lol

68style 06-13-2022 09:38 AM

Yah and now an ambulance can't get to him because they blocked the road SeemsGood

StylinRed 06-13-2022 09:39 AM

Think he just wanted to be visible to ppl down the highway

Anyone know the requirements to fly into Mexico in July for Canadians?
Do we need covid tests still, coming and going?

Hondaracer 06-13-2022 10:44 AM

There’s nothing going into Mexico, they couldn’t care less.

It’s the flying on Canadian carriers and coming home where you need to worry. Not sure if those monitored rapid tests are still required or not

donk. 06-13-2022 11:44 AM

They should put all of those protesters in prison for a couple of days, for being the root cause of that guys injury

No tests (random or otherwise) required for coming home if you are fully vaxxed.

Just need ArriveCAN filled out, show your Federal Vax pass, and wear a mask on the plane.

Be prepared for massive lineups at home and abroad though.
