Superstore. 50 extra large clear bags lasts a long time. Think of one per week = whole year.

Can't find it on-line, but they look like this, except 50 and extra large. The regular size is too small.

Don't know how much they are now, but I whoreded a few when they were like 9 bucks per box and during no tax days, when they were actually no tax on everything days. I think they're like 15 bucks+ now. Good quality, too.

You sign up. They send you stickers. Or, you go to a depot and sign in using the phone number you used to sign up. Out comes the stickers. Put one on each bag and throw it into the Express bin. They do all the work. You don't get sticky fingers and don't have to stand in line. Walking by all these poor people who have no idea what's up = precious. Sometimes, I feel like explaining it to them, but I like to go in and get out in 45 seconds. I'm not as fast as punkwax. I have a stack of stickers in the house and in the garage. Slap that shit on the bag and just smile. I hate sticky cans and bottles.

They send you email with details on your bag(s). Money is held in your account until you have it transferred to your bank account. I remember once, I totally forgot about the returnables............ 350 bucks was a good surprise.

lilaznviper 06-20-2022 09:44 PM

if the old asians need to buy those clear bags, its a waste of money. they will rather sort them, than to spend money on clear bags. as well as they probably dont trust the workers to count them correctly

Gumby 06-20-2022 10:43 PM

And many of them don’t have any hobbies (unlike MG1) so they don’t have anything else better to do… such as my FIL!

Hondaracer 06-21-2022 06:45 AM

ie. their time is worthless lol

i remember the last time i returned bottles i took them to a "private" return it spot where they gave me like 7 cents for cans, had 700+ beer cans, got like $55 for my work. Never again. lol

Yup, there's not enough hours in the day. I keep telling my friends, "How the hell did we find time for a job?" I'm so busy, I even stopped going to the casinos (okay cut back my trips there, gulolol). Between waging war with the weeds (ivy), gardening, cleaning up the yard, working on the cars, etc. I haven't had time to build any models or keep up with the stamp collecting. I don't even have time to watch the Jays' games anymore. I just listen to them now.

Definitely no time to stand in line at the bottle depot. So glad those days are over.

Okay........ I have to stop posting on RS. Half my life has been wasted here........... AAAAAHHHHHHHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!

Gerbs 06-21-2022 09:34 AM

I have these white bags that are somewhat clear, I hope those works. I packed 6 bags of them so far over spring / winter.

I drop off my mother in-law's bags for her and she actually counts them before giving it to me, and compares the total later.
I'm like... omg it's only 10cents per can... if they want to stash some, let them FFS....

Hondaracer 06-21-2022 09:57 AM

What a ducking waste of time lol

Send me off to sea if I’m counting fucking cans when I’m retired. Honestly, get a hobby ffs

^This, I’d give up some cans just to save the time and not having to touch those gross blue trays

I've been throwing them out, the more you know.

According to the in-law. Is it accurate?
I haven't signed up for the express, so I've still been filling the trays. Milk jugs take up too much space, saw on FB ad that they didn't want you to crush them.

inv4zn 06-21-2022 10:34 AM

So our family has about ~$5 of recyclables every 2 weeks or so. Space is a factor, so I can't stash bags on my balcony or whatever.

is the express still worth it?

bobbinka 06-21-2022 11:26 AM

i'd gladly let them keep a few cans so i don't have to do it

I installed a hitch on my sky

Unfortunately the guys who designed this thing, probably never actually tested it on a car. Moving it more towards the rear of the car was not possible, it was already maxed out.
Maybe the hitch was tested on the non turbo model of the car, and that one has different exhaust that sits lower / more towards the front of the car?

Anyways, the hitch, "taps" the muffler, causing a rattling at certain rpms / speeds

I currently have foam tape in place, need to re apply every xxxkm

I'm thinking the only solution is to take it off, grind out 2" all around the area that hits, and re install.

Any other suggestions? See photo

underscore 06-22-2022 10:09 PM

Can the muffler move forward at all? Are the exhaust hangers looking sloppy? If it's only just barely touching I'd give the pipe some percussive adjustment.

RiceIntegraRS 06-22-2022 10:25 PM

u can enlarge the holes where the bolts go thru so theres more play. Or even drill new holes(if theres room). I assume ur not doing any type of heavy towing with ur hitch

Razor Ramon HG 06-23-2022 05:05 PM

Can anyone recommend a place locally where I can have a few things printed on photo finished heavy card stock in a custom size? Nothing too big - 16x11.25" and 25.75x3.25"

Just have them printed as photo's at a place like London Drugs.

We had that the last time I went to the bottle depot here a year or so ago, and now it's gone. Now they have these robot glory holes in the wall that you put each bottle/can into and it scans the bar code and adds them up. Then it prints out a slip and you take that to a different machine that spits out cash. It works okay, but it can't take any of the large jugs, you still end up sticky as hell, and anything it doesn't recognize you're stuck with.

I couldn't figure out what to do with the stuff it wouldn't take so I just gave them to the lady working there. She was really nice and trying to give me a tray to put them on to bring to the counter so I was struggling with how to nicely say I honestly don't care about $0.25 vs the time it will take me to get it lol.

I use London Drugs for normal prints, but I need these true to size and pre-cut accurately. I don't think either of them accept custom sizes from what I could see online.

I guess I could print the 16x11.25" at 16x12" fit to size and cut off the white, but I'd still need a shop for the 25.75x3.25" print. At that point, might as well just get them both done elsewhere.

I'll have to give them a call to confirm.

68style 06-23-2022 07:04 PM

I got some pretty large printouts down at one of those like FedEx Kinko’s printing places once… the one I went to is out of business but they had many options for paper stock and whatnot.

Started de-ricing my car and pulled off the cheapo CF vinyl that previous owner(s) installed. Found that the trim pieces have been painted before as well. Not sure if I should refinish all the pieces (too lazy) or just buy as new. Still need to remove the vinyl from the shifter surround and steering wheel lower trim.
