Also that doesn't look like it's been painted over - it just looks like the adhesive on the CF overlay ruined the original paint of that specific trim piece. |
I'm looking at roof racks for my corolla, the kind which mount to the door frame. I have a similar setup on my chevy tracker, but it has become rusted and has stained the windows with rust from rain run off. I am wondering if companies make covers to place over the racks to protect them from rain and sun when not in use, if that makes sense? I'd prefer that to having to dismount and mount the roof rack every time I want to use them to carry stuff. I can't seem to find anything online, but I may not be using the right terminology. |
Any properly painted racks shouldn't have the same issue. Probably was chipped to have that issue. |
I had a set of BMW foot racks mounted on my E36 M3 for years and I used them quite regularly to haul my bikes. I am pretty confident they were made by Thule and never had any issues rusting. In fairness, they had a proper mount built onto the chassis. I have factory roof racks on my Corolla iM, the type mounted to the door frame as you describe. Have had them for a while now and no issues, and I am in Toronto where the weather is a bit more extreme than in BC. No rust or any issues (yet.). You just need to wash the car often and make sure it is sprayed down with a good soap. |
For the love of Wynonna Earp, I turned on the ceiling fans in the house to cool things down. I noticed it not being as effective as before. I forgot to set it for summer. What a difference, gulolol. If you have reversible ceiling fans, make sure it is spinning counter-clockwise. |
The Official No Need To Start a New Thread, Thread -attempted armed bank robbery in Saanich. Six cops were shot and two suspects are dead. According to a Saanich Police tweet, they “have not uncovered further indication of a potential 3rd suspect.” https://vancouver.citynews.ca/2022/0...fire-incident/ -from the article: Our response is being augmented and supported by resources from the BC RCMP and our local police partners at VicPD, Central Saanich Police, Oak Bay Police, and Westshore RCMP,” said Saanich Police Chief Constable Dean Duthie. Police say say gunfire was exchanged after they were called to the bank around 11 a.m. for reports two armed suspects entered the building near Pear and Shelbourne streets. Investigators say the suspects were “heavily armed,” with body armour reported. A vehicle found in the area associated with the suspects was found with a potential explosive device inside, police say. The officers hurt are all members of the Greater Victoria Emergency Response Team — three Saanich Police and three Victoria Police officers. Their injuries vary in severity, with some undergoing surgery. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
^friend sent me the video of the shootout. I thought it was the USA. Also friend sent me the video of the person whose Jeep caught on fire and literally burned to death on Boundary Rd. https://vancouversun.com/news/local-...y-road-burnaby |
Some of the officers are in pretty critical condition @ VGH. This is coming from a friend who is an officer -- apparently there was a 3rd suspect (the driver), he is still currently being looked for. I'm supposing they released that statement in order to make the perp think they're not after him? |
Saanich cops rush in and engage with a bank robber but cops can’t rush into a school to save kids? Lol Fuck |

The Official No Need To Start a New Thread, Thread I give props to the Saanich police officers based on what the Saanich mayor said about the cops: I’m awestruck. When you look at the video of officers running into the line of fire to save the residents of Saanich that they swore an oath to, what a call of duty,” said Haynes. Police literally running into the line of fire from bank robbers is the highest level of sacrifice from an officer in the line of duty. These robbers had assault rifles and body armour. They were heavily armed when they went into the BMO branch. They also placed a bomb inside a vehicle near the bank. https://youtube.com/shorts/Dj3nI8jN7Xo?feature=share Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Fuck sad story, I’m sure anyone that ever watched BCTV or global in the last 20+ years recognizes Deb Hope who used to be the lead anchor for ages: https://apple.news/ATnP8yGbMQbCqr4eK23nMUg She was awarded the order of of Canada for journalism yesterday. What I didn’t realize is since her last broadcast in 2014 she’s now in a care home with Alzheimer’s and basically doesn’t know anyone/remember anything. Fuck, terrible |
Two drivers of Lambos got caught speeding on June 24th on the Sea to Sky Highway. -pretty common for the cops to catch drivers in exotics speeding on that highway. What is not common is the Huracan STO that one of the drivers owns. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...3e02f8159c.jpg Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Glad that her decades of work in broadcasting was recognized and her family can have such wonderful memories of her. |

I never watched Deb Hope when she was an anchor, but I hope she gets a regular stream of visitors even if she can't remember who they are. Even without their memory, people with dementia can still enjoy the feeling from having company and social interaction. |
^ Lisa Raitt, Cons MP's husband also has early onset of dementia. Stats show 1/9 will experience some form or degree of cognitive loss, dementia, or alzheimer. Devastating for sure, hopefully, they will have a treatment before I get to that age or stage. |
