In this day and age, it's almost crazy (imho) to not have a dashcam.

Everybody lies or exaggerates, except for the camera.
Hell, I've even had witnesses lie against me. Thank god for my dashcam.

I remember when I was a kid in the late 80’s my dad bumped a taxi cab from behind, my dad’s fault but no witnesses… just some bumper damage from the license plate screws guy was driving alone and then he sued for whiplash and told ICBC he had 3 family members with him at the time all 4 show up for court with neck braces on the whole nine yards lol… their word against my dad’s… people have zero shame man.

They lost cuz none of them were smart enough to get their stories straight about even the colour of my dads car but the driver still got like $5k for his “whiplash”…

I immediately thought it was the building that used to have the Bonsai shop. Next to the restaurant that changes hands more than all business in all of BC combined........... I mean description stated Broadway and Rupert. Building, however, does not have rooftop parking. Good Bye, Gizzella.

Does anybody know of Amazon sometimes hires third party delivery drivers, perhaps for prime day due to increased demand?

My delivery person today drove a U-Haul van and no Amazon uniform. After they dropped off my package my security camera caught him suspiciously walking to my walkway that leads to my backyard, they even looked straight into the camera.

A bit sketchy without an Amazon van, uniform, and seemingly snooping around my place.

Yes they hire 3rd party companies/drivers. They don't have amazon uniforms.

All the time, not even for prime day, sometimes they use their personal vehicles too, it's a bit WTF, but yeah

My local amazon guy sometimes is an asian uncle in his 50s in a beige minivan lol

Amazon deliverer tossing my package lol. Luckily, I think it was just cables or something.

Nothing close to what they do at depots and airports. That’s why all the bubble wraps and air bags.

Hate Amazon all you want, but their shipping is Uber fast. It’s only when Canada Post is involved shit gets weird. I have a Flex Delivery address, but I use it only if the item is expensive or I’m not in any hurry. Three to four days difference. I love Amazon Prime. Especially free overnight shipping items.

My whole family refuses to get anything from Amazon due to their treatment of workers. Me, not so much. Nobody putting a gun to their heads. They can work somewhere else. Like Canada Post, or, UPS, Fed Ex, or See it Later Purolator.

I avoid amazon like the plague

Where's a good shop / store to get a reliable dash cam and back up camera for a smaller car?

Vehicle in question is a 2010 Toyota Yaris destined to be owned/driven by a senior citizen in mid to late 70s. Obviously, the Yaris doesn't have a screen built in and it's a no-frills type of car. Thanks in advance.

AzNightmare 07-16-2022 05:24 PM

Intelcom is the worse. I'm not sure when Amazon started using them, but whenever you try to make a return on an item, Amazon will send Intelcom to pick up your item for you so that you don't need to do the legwork in returning the item at the post office.

While it's supposed to be the next business day, it's not always the case. Then they may randomly contact you via email when they're coming. It's sometimes on the same day of so you can't prepare if you're not home. Then majority of the time, they don't even show up. You can reschedule a new pick up day, but when you do, there's no acknowledgement whether it was confirmed or not. And of course, when the day comes, they don't show up.

A couple times, I complained about them to Amazon and they just told me to keep the item and they refunded me my money, lol!

Seriously, look at Intelcom's google reviews. https://www.google.com/search?q=intelcom++reviews
It's like a ton of 1/5 stars over the span of 6~ months. All legit, lengthy negative reviews.

How are these guys even still in business...

You can always use one of those Rear view mirror backup screens, where it's a rear view mirror, until you go in reverse, then it becomes a LCD screen/camera.

Here in Vancouver, they use numerous couriers. They seem to be organized by region.

In North Vancouver they used a company called Wyngit among many. In Burnaby they had a company that used primarily unmarked white Dodge Cargo Caravans (they set up temporarily next to us, probably Intelcom). No uniforms for either.

NMotion. Nice folks and still a RS sponsor I think.

Anyone have experience dealing with carpet moths? They started springing up in a small bedroom the other day.

Gave the room a thorough inspection and vacuuming today. Left for a few hours, came back in and found like 4-5, killed them, walked back into the room a few minutes later and found another 4-5.

I'll often see some flying around in front of a closet, but I can't seem to find any area that indicates a ground zero or eggs.

Thinking about getting something like this sticky thing and some sort of lavendar spray.

https://www.amazon.ca/Aeroxon-T26139.../dp/B00095L3K2

Worst case, I guess it's enough motivation to pull out all that old carpet and put in some vinyl flooring.
