The luxury tax only applies to new cars, yachts, and planes, no?

Badhobz 08-04-2022 04:33 PM

For now yes.

radeonboy 08-04-2022 04:47 PM

Anyone here looked into Hagerty Canada's insurance products? People seem to have a good experience south of the border but I haven't found any anecdotes regarding Canadian coverage.

Then I'll actually get to enjoy it instead of just using it to commute in traffic or something.

15k, and group 98 insurance depending on what you get

can anybody here help me out with Adobe Illustrator. I have a smallish image which pixelates too much when I enlarge it to the size I need. I only need nice clean edges.

Probably need to try to convert it into a vector file, but if it's too small and vector is not detail enough you'll need to redraw it as a vector image.

Even worse. That and a service and depreciation and you're probably easily looking at 20k to experience owning one for a year.

Owning a super car is just like owning a yacht. 99% of the time it’s stored and when you do take it out, you’re nervous as all hell. You’re only ever not nervous if you got 5+ super cars and then you’ll probably be like whatever and take it to Richmond tnt

Oh and be prepared to deal with gold diggers approaching you in gas stations. They come out of the wood works in Richmond. I got hit on a few times and right in front of my wife too

My Boxster is insured through Hagerty but I am in Ontario. I’m not sure they operate in BC yet? I would say they are ok and you need to understand their fine print. What do you want to know?

That is gold. No pun intended

I had an 07 Corvette years ago, roll up to 711 in Coquitlam, go inside, grab some shit, standing in line, this woman in her 30s gets in line behind me
"iisss thhattt youurrr corvveetteeeee"
Me "Haha yes"
" Oooooooooo my kind of mannnn"
I laugh it off, pay for my shit, go outside

As soon as I'm about to open the door to the car, this 16 year old kid across the parking lot shouts "sweet car man!"
Me "Thank you!"

As I'm about to get in the car, the cougar comes out of 711, kid shouts again "mom did you see the cool car!?!"
Cougar "oooo yyeeeaa honey"

Keep in mind I was 23 at the time :drunk:

Sometimes the best moments aren't even driving the car, and that Corvette topped the list for amount of funny interactions I had

Badhobz 08-05-2022 11:03 AM

hahah thats hilarious. yes vettes do attract a certain type.

i would say the most positive attention ive ever gotten with my cars is with the nissan cube. i bought mine when it was first released and i got a shit ton of girls coming up to me asking to take pictures

the damn thing is super cute. when i drove it to edmonton i had a ton of skanks come out asking for a ride.

Only 18-50 year old men pay me any attention in my cars. Sometimes it’s a bit much lol.
My favourite is always “I had one just like that!”
99% of the time I’m just thinking “no you for sure did not man.”

68style 08-05-2022 12:27 PM

My MR2 has been getting a lot of kids asking "Hey man is that a Thupra?" wherever I stop lately.

Kids think they're soooooooooo funny with their TikToks.

westopher 08-05-2022 12:33 PM

Just let them know all the supras they fawn over are just automatic Japanese Camaros for the most part

CivicBlues 08-05-2022 12:35 PM

If they are Vietnamese and grew up in East Van, yes. Their daughters are likely to have kids soon.
