No way a completely fictional under sea being could be anything but white!
I'm 100% sure there are Black mermaids out there. Someone should make a movie about one!
Edit if it's not clear, I am being entirely facetious here. I don't care whatsoever what race Ariel or anyone else is, but I think Disney is getting to the point where they are flat out trolling.
^fuck this Political correctness. I recall watching little mermaid when i was a wee little boy and i found that red headed bitch hot. I think i was only 7 at the time, but she awakened my pee pee
since then ive been trawling (trolling?!) the sea trying to find a half fish, half woman red head. fuck you black Ariel. DONT WANT, throw back in ocean.
I only answer to my username, my real name is Irrelevant!

I think all the new productions be it a TV series or movie are trying to be more representative, which is a good thing, but it'll definitely be seen as trolling, tokenism, eye rolling, cringy by many, because Hollywood is horrible at doing anything, even making movies (a good movie is a rarity after all)
Also of course the racists will be up in arms too but /shrug and the die hard fans as well who often times get coupled with the racists, which probably isn't fair
They aren’t even releasing these movies in the theatre anymore they are just straight to Disney+ so if you’ve got a subscription and you’re so against the casting lol I dunno what to say

Just fill it if it’s not gonna be much more than 3 months. How old is the car? I’d say if it’s older make sure it’s ethanol free fuel. Tank of 94 should do it.

I have a barely used closet that I want to repurpose to store two sets of tires in.
I currently have a set of four on the ground, but looking to build a simple heavy duty shelf that can support the other set. I would have to stack these vertically, but there is enough space.
Anyone have any ideas on the best way to do this? I was thinking of just installing some wall brackets to the studs and then going to Home Depot and having a piece of MDF or plywood cut to size.
I checked the studs and marked them in the image as yellow squares. I can use up to four brackets. The blue is where I would want the shelf and then the red are the tires.
I saw these brackets at Home Depot and they're rated for 1,000lbs per pair. Would it be fine to just do brackets in the middle two studs and skip the two side brackets? The studs aren't evenly spaced, but I don't think it'll be that big of a concern.

The brackets are rated for 1000lbs but what is everything else involved rated for? ie the screws, studs, plywood, etc. Personally I'd use all 4 brackets, or make a ledge out of 2x4s that the shelf sits on. You're talking about probably 200lbs centered pretty far from the back wall so there's quite a bit of torque involved.

They go on sale once in a while. I bought two when they were on clearance (overstock and out of season).
I use them in the garage. I strap the tires down with ratcheting straps so going over bumps is not an issue. Princess Auto carries a cheaper version, but I find it quite unstable.
Being on wheels, the tires can be moved in and around.
EDIT: just realized you want two sets stored. Plywood to separate the two sets?

I'm all for inclusivity, but it's silly recasting an existing character and changing their race or gender.
The lore of mermaids and the original story itself is a European one, it just looks odd to me changing her from a red headed white woman to a black girl (and I'm black damnit).
The movie isn't for me anyways, but I can somewhat see why people are a little bothered by it. Who knows, maybe this whole anti-woke crap is starting to indoctrinate me
At least Halle Bailey kinda looks like a fish though with her out eyes, so I guess all good?

Lol who cares?
The only part that bothers me is it has nothing to do with actually giving a shit about black people. It’s just virtue signalling from a giant corporation that has a history of racism doing what they can to stay relevant and pat themselves on the back for it.

The one complaint I agree with is stop rewriting what's already in the Disney archives. I'm personally tired of this revisiting of the past. It's obviously for merchandising reasons, not for any ode to quality content.
If Disney cared about content, they would have created a standalone storyline about a black mermaid within the original movie's universe. Unfortunately, it's easier to rebrand something already in existence because half the work is already done. Just gotta get it to market across the globe and rake in the ticket & merch sales.
I imagine most of the original writers / animators etc are gone and scripts nowadays are paint-by-numbers from this new school of 'writers' while most of the post-production FX work is done by factory workers in Bangladesh.

The CGI reboots have all ranged from bad to pointless, but the thing I wish they'd do is leave the actual good movies alone for a while, and use the chance to redo the ones that didn't hit. Black Cauldron, Sword in the Stone, Robin Hood, Great Mouse Detective.
These were all potentially great movies that just didn't quite get it right, where a reboot may be able to fix that. The low point of Disney, before Little Mermaid turned things around.
Hmm... What kind of makes me wonder is, this whole race swap thing is solely for the purpose of being woke.
But why isn't Asians ever being the ones that do the replacing?
Imagine if it was an Asian Mermaid. People would be losing their minds even more over it.

That would require skill and effort though
The only one I thought wasn't too bad was Beauty and the Beast. They added in a bit more backstory to her parents (If I recall correctly).
They changed the 3rd act of Aladdin... and the whole Will Smith genie thing was weird.
LK was holy shit bad. It was a carbon copy of the original, yet every dramatic part was poorly executed and failed to even give any feels. And trying to make realism CGI, but then mix it with talking animals, it's just doesn't work.
I never watched those older animated movies like the one you mentioned before Little Mermaid. I agree, this would be a good opportunity for them to remake and refine them.
LM - Tarzan, aka "Disney's Renaissance" should have been left untouched. They're masterpieces.
