I love watching all the old people left and right start tweaking and rage quitting the table.

That sounds like a great time :lol

Thanks for the post. I'm reinstalling now to see how Vancouver looks after this update.

Is it still jerky in first person view with the Q2? I remember needing to download a different driver to help with it, but it was still noticeable.

Badhobz 09-30-2022 08:41 PM

^no man, its very very smooth even on the over the air quest link. Try it out, it'll blow your mind. Also if you have a RTX card, you can enable DLSS and it's a huge performance boost.

Amazon Prime Early Access??

I keep hearing about it. It's obviously not Prime Day, but what is it? Apparently October 11 and 12. Sounded like it was only for Canada Prime members, but other countries are participating. Any idea?

No, because I don't like lighting money on fire

You're on a car forum, so you obviously do.

Another made up day for sales to get rid of more inventory. Basically another "Prime Day", trying to drum up more $$ before the holidays.

MG1 10-03-2022 05:12 PM

Then there's a lack lustre Black Friday, non sale. At least that's been the trend the last little while.

Like Boxing Day...........

Anyone looking to buy a TV for the holidays, stay away from Proscan
I have an 8 month active case for warranty, and they click the "issue solved" button every few months

Curtis international / Proscan are a joke

/Rant

British powe company is cutting down old growth forests in BC so that they could burn it down for fuel. BC just says "oh dear I hope not"

yikes, I can get behind cutting down forests for actual useful items, but sourced for Brits to have some cheap dirty energy? Naw

Proscan = Proscam.

One thing I’ve learned over the years is, never buy no-name electronics. So many things can go wrong with electronics. Buy from a reputable manufacturer, ‘cause they stand behind their products. I’m sure there are exceptions, but I would rather go without than throw my money at some fly by night company. Also, for big purchases, the place I buy the item from is a place where you can get great, honest help. Car audio, for example, I get stuff from local businesses, like Soundsgood (I have no affiliation plus they happen to be Revscene sponsors). For TVs and home sound systems, I get stuff from Sunny Electronics. Honest people and very competitive pricing on name brand electronics.

Just my two bits.

Hondaracer 10-04-2022 08:15 AM

The only place you should be buying TV’s from is Costco imo. They carry virtually every brand at every level. Their extended warantees are also hard to beat if you think you even need one

Great, you're just giving Manic! more reasons to hate the British... :lol

Great68 10-04-2022 09:20 AM

Proscan is not exactly no-name, it used to be RCA's premium TV sub-brand competing with Pioneer Elite and Sony XBR.

Hondaracer 10-04-2022 09:24 AM

RCA’s are now the worst TV’s you can buy imo.

Nothing but incompatibility issues with basic things like set top boxes etc.

Can confirm, activating cheap mode did not work out

Great68 10-04-2022 09:35 AM

I still love my Sharp Aquos from 2009. The thing has been solid as a rock. My dad has been through 2 Samsungs in the same timeframe.

TOS'd 10-04-2022 09:44 AM

I still have a 4K RCA tv from 2017 that works to this day with no issues. Mainly used as an additional monitor for my computer. Bought it because it was confirmed to have a Samsung brand panel inside and not a random "no name" panel manufacturer. Samsung quality panel at a fraction of the cost of a Samsung branded product.

Hondaracer 10-04-2022 09:49 AM

So I think the biggest issue with RCA’s now is basically what you said there. They can be a mish-mash of components. Especially the new “Virtuoso” branded ones

At this point I don’t really see any reason to be buying the “cheaper” brands anymore unless a $200 difference is making or breaking the deal. HDMI compatibility issues are becoming bigger and bigger problems in the lower end TV’s. Especially with components which force an output standard

Sharp is a well respected name in electronics............ not popular here in NA.

MG1 10-04-2022 12:35 PM

Cheap brands use reject, or not good enough, parts used in the more upscale brands. Nothing wrong with that, I suppose, but if it wasn't good enough for Sony, Panasonic, Samsung, etc. why?

A batch of parts that did not meet failure rates............. hmmmm..........
