Story doesnt add up, im sure the shop didnt want to do a 'free' appraisal for him cause

12% tax on a $4000 vehicle is $480
12% tax on a $1200 $180

its a $300 difference, im pretty sure the buyer realises if he pays a shop to appraise it, theres a good chance he will just end up even or paying more after its all said and done.

If this is a thing, I sense a great business opportunity. What is the qualification for doing a valid appraisal? If a licensed technician is all that's required, maybe setup a platform (a la AirBNB/Turo) but for car appraisals.

whitev70r 10-16-2022 04:32 PM

Yah, that's what I was thinking ... pay for a $150 appraisal which is about the same for an inspection report, I'm guessing, to save $300 in taxes? Not to mention the time it takes for you to arrange an apt, bring it in, and pick it up. Just not worth the hassle.

So this restaurant chain called Yellow deli that has locations in BC is run by a racist cult. Crazy.

Could anyone recommend someone who deals with wasps? They’ve managed to setup camp in my ceiling above my washroom that isn’t really accessible from the attic. They found a small opening between the old chimney and the roof it’s super freaky hearing them at night from the washroom

Great68 10-17-2022 07:59 AM

Are you able to get up there on a ladder?

I've found that blasting in and around the spot the wasps are using as an entrance with wasp & hornet killer they will usually abandon the nest.

I called Honeybee Centre to remove a big wasp nest I had. A girl came out, captured the queen and removed the nest.
For smaller nests around my house I've used wasp spray or just a water hose to get rid of it. For your situation, you definitely want to call someone in :-)

I've been blasting the entrance with wasp/hornet killer and my gutter is filled w/ wasp corpse (200+) but they're persistent mfers. I'll call Honeybee Center and get a quote.

:alonehappy:Have you tried a flamethrower?

Haha not this time! I've actually tried lighting one on fire in my teenage years when it was attached to the exterior of my parent's place. Just glad my stupidity didn't result in anything serious LOL.

Wilson One Shot

https://www.homedepot.ca/product/wil...ray/1000410968

Kills on contact. It reaches far.......... would win all pissing contests.

I had wasps/yellow jackets in the soffits just outside the garage. They had built a home under the soffits. I spayed the ones coming out of the opening and sprayed a shitload into the hole. I then covered up the hole and edges of the soffits with silicone. After a few minutes and for the next two or three days, I saw others trying frantically to get in. I guess I closed up all entry points to their nest. I feel like a mass murderer of living organism. Not a good Buddhist, I'm afraid.

I got attacked by a swarm of them a few years back. They built a nest under the tarp that was covering rotten fence boards. I pulled back the tarp and was hit by the swarm. After running for cover, I got stung 7 or 8 times. all in the head. Went to walk-in clinic where they pulled out three or four stingers. Some allergic reaction, but lucky they didn't sting me near the eyes. Fucking vile creatures from hell.

underscore 10-17-2022 10:21 PM

I second the Wilson stuff. After we had the roof redone a bunch ended up evicted from in there so they tried rebuilding all over the place. In the fender of my RX7, in the fence, hanging from the soffits, hell even in a pile of dirt in the yard when I was building the patio. It turns out pounding on giant patio stones to level them will make wasps come out and investigate lol.

Every time I brought out the spray it left no survivors. Shooting horizontally the range was probably 15 feet or so? Maybe closer to 20. Ideally you want to spray the nest down at night since they'll all be in there.

what a great job to be a meteorologist. If somebody paid me to give half assed answers where scenario A is one thing and Scenario B is the exact opposite id be laughing my ass off.

Here's our "winter" projections according to the weather network

“One thing we know for sure, is there will 100% be weather in canada over the winter”

Gumby 10-18-2022 09:13 AM

I'll admit that being a meteorologist isn't an easy job, but more often than not, you get paid to be wrong! They also tend to issue special weather statements when the special weather is already upon us. :lol

MG1 10-18-2022 09:52 AM

They’re trying to be scientific about something only god would know.

God is powerful and all mighty………. praise the lord.

god bless

whitev70r 10-18-2022 10:30 AM

I find the best & most reliable weather forecast is if you go outside and look up.
