7seven: I really can't stand all these idiots who hit the gym now just because they watched 300 and want to be like a spartan. Case in point, this skinny guy comes into the gym the other day, must have only weighed ~ 140lbs, loads on 2 plates on the bench rack, mutters to himself, for sparta, unracks the barbell and proceeds to drop it directly on his chest.

Now, Stevens says her health-insurance coverage will soon run out — leaving her unable to pay future medical and psychiatric bills related to the transplant.
“I don’t know what I’m going to do,” she said.
“I can’t afford it; it’s a lot of money. I may have a hard time getting insurance because I donated a kidney. I thought I would be at that job until I retired.”
Yes that is correct, that is the current "standard rate" been like that for awhile now. Although there is no set rate, this what what most realtors charge their clients. Anything more, the agent will have to justify why.
I'm a realtor myself and that is what I charge my sellers.

However, I just sold my house in April, and we used the "standard" rate:
Commission = 7% on first $100k and 2.5 on remainder
Buyer's agent gets 46.5% of the commission + HST
Seller's agent gets 53.5% of the commission + HST (because he has more expenses than the buyer's agent, my agent had to pay his agency + REBGV for listing on MLS)
Alright..... So I rent the lower half of my dads place, eariler I heard a knock on the door and I can seem him talking to some cracker looking guy... I'm like ummm wtf is that about. Well he comes inside and says the guy will clean the gutters and all of the windows for $45 and he said ok...
Well fuck I have an alarm but he doesn't (separate entrances of course)but I told him if I come home one day and the fucken house is empty its all his fault and he's dead...
Fuck parents are dumbass's sometimes and do't realize a good deal might not be a good deal in the long run. He has a large scary ass dog as well but fuck....
Does anyone know what this tool is called, and where to get it locally?
The cutting bit is a die, the handle is a die stock.
It's a pretty standard tool, Canadian Tire and KMS both carry them.

When I still lived with my Mom years ago, she also hired a crack head looking team of two guys who went door to door offering to clean gutters and windows for $40~.

They did a decent job, but still
A couple of years ago, when I first started my biz(reno) I quoted this guy for painting his garage. We were talking and he seemed decent. Tells me he had this sketchy looking guy that said he'd do it for $500, but needed the money up front.
Tells me that he'd much prefer to have me do it, as I look all clean and professional. This other guy would probably flake on him(um, yeah?)
I tell him that I can't meet heroin addict pricing, but I can come in close and do things by the book. I think I quote him $800 or some shit.
Calls me the next day to get me to meet the $500 price by saying, "well, I do have this other guy willing to do it for 500..."
And I say: "Let me get this straight. You don't want to hire the heroin addict, but want heroin addict pricing?"
...I didn't get that job...
People just annoy me. Had another guy in his negotiation say "oh, I've got a guy that will do it for 2k"
Get the other guy to do it then. Oh..right. There IS no other guy. This is a line.
I did get that job.
People shock me at the things they do. You see on the news, and you say to yourself like, how do these people fall for it?
That guy was going to hand a sketchy looking addict 500 and then wonder A) why my garage looks like shit or B) why this heroin addict guy stole my money?
CHINA has pledged to investigate allegations about pills filled with the powdered flesh of dead babies.
The gruesome practice came to light on Sunday when South Korean Customs said it had uncovered multiple attempts to illegally import, in total, more than 17,000 of the capsules in travellers' luggage or by mail.
The pills are said to be filled with the flesh of foetuses or dead infants, dried then ground into powder, to be taken as a disease cure or to boost sexual performance.
Beijing said a previous investigation into similar allegations had uncovered no evidence that such capsules were made in China, but pledged to reopen the investigation.
"We have not yet found the relevant capsules in China," China foreign ministry spokesman Hong Lei said yesterday.
"The health ministry will further investigate (this) in conjunction with relevant public security, industry and commerce and customs departments."
Experts say the practice stems from a superstitious belief that eating the body parts of young infants will impart special physical strength or cure disease.
But aside from the obvious ethical issues, there are worries the capsules could be contaminated with "super bacteria" and other disease-causing organisms.
China's health ministry declined to comment yesterday, but spokesman Deng Haihua told the Shanghai Daily that reports of the capsules first surfaced in South Korean media in August last year.
A Korea Customs official said on Tuesday that the country would closely monitor flights from "certain Chinese regions" and inspect the luggage of passengers more frequently than before.
Korea Customs said pills were sent from at least four Chinese cities at the request of customers in South Korea, but were intercepted in the mail or in customs searches at airports.
They came from Jilin and Yanji cities - both in the northern province of Jilin which borders North Korea - as well as the northern municipality of Tianjin and eastern city of Qingdao, it said.
Some were hidden in packages of legitimate drugs to disguise their contents.
Bringing in such pills breaches a regulation banning items that "violate social dignity and customs", said Kim Soo-Yeon, an official in charge of customs clearance.
The capsules sell for 40,000-50,000 won ($35-$44) each at some herbal medicine shops, South Korean media says.
Chinese hospitals cannot dispose of foetuses and deceased infants as medical waste, the Shanghai Daily said. They must be treated as other human remains and cremated.
Under Chinese law, medical institutions are also forbidden to trade in foetal remains or placentas, the Global Times, an English-language Chinese newspaper said.
But Chinese hospitals do allow mothers who have just delivered to take their own placentas, provided they sign an authorisation form, a Shanghai maternity hospital said.
One Chinese health website posted recipes for both human and animal placenta, including soup, dumplings and meat balls.
"Many people with weak constitutions want a quick way to take human, cow, sheep and other animals' placenta, and process it for food," said website 飞华健康网_中国健康营养医疗专业网站.

Does anyone have prescription sunglasses that would like to share some input? My eyes aren't contact lens friendly so if I want to wear sunglasses it'll have to be prescription lol
Another question for everyone, I'm thinking about getting some lowering springs for my 93 EG, but not too sure if that's a good idea running them on the stock struts. My EG is at almost 297k km now, and I'm not sure if the struts are still the original ones but I'll just assume that they are. Would they last another 20k km or so if I were to put aftermarket springs on them? The springs atm are stock and I'm assuming that the springs on the struts have been OEM their entire life since the car was never modified before.
You are better off changing the struts at the same time to save you the hassle but if you don't your ride might be a bit rougher until you do change them. Why wait the 20k change them now so you will be ready to go for the summer!!
