If you have a chimney they're likely in there, supposedly that's a favourite location for them

Had our heating virtually off when we left in October but came back to a house with several stink bugs hibernating and a couple would appear every couple weeks since

It's just a nuisance considering I killed like 20 in the past week. I'm guessing it's coming through the kitchen stove ventilation fan because that's the only spot that's not completely sealed off.

Wildest public road crash I've seen.

^ Oh man ... a nightmare! If there was any negligence on part of the SUV/Rogue ... that'd be a lot of guilt. Of course, we don't know if it is mech or whatever.

PSA - do go back and retorque your wheels and double check bolts after you switch out to your A/S or summers!

MG1 03-27-2023 11:31 AM

Wheel spacers............. why?

Yeah, insurance isn't going to cover the driver of the truck.

radeonboy 03-27-2023 11:39 AM

Did they end up catching the truck driver? In the video looks like he/she tried to run away.

I can't find anything about what happened to the truck driver but I bet he was really tired.

It's crazy how people will drive on trashed tires or even without a 4th wheel. Above is just one example from today.

What are the best options for cell plans (talk, text, data) for short term US vacations?

If you can get away with data only and your phone supports esim, use airalo.

https://www.airalo.com/

Unfortunately, its data only, but atleast you can use Whatsapp if needed.

Theres a 90 day T-Mobile free trial you can get with unlimited data.

MG1 03-29-2023 12:11 AM

Got home from a nice day in Bellingham. Everything was peachy, until............. in the mail was a summons from the Ministry of Attorney General - Sheriff Services.

Letter looked intimidating. I thought to myself, "Fuck, my past finally caught up to me....." Any letter that is in yellow can't be a good thing.

Anyway, it was a Jury Summons. Man, I've got out of jury duty a few times. What excuse am I going to use this time? Then, at the bottom of the form is a checkbox that states, "I am over 65 years and do not want to serve on jury duty. Thank god............

I could see myself telling the jury selection committee that I am a racist pig (okay, mostly true), and that I hate all LGBBQTFSA and multi-spirited humans. I hate all politicians and I am a freedom convoy activist........ They included a form and a SASE. Butt, I submitted the reply via website. Easy Peasy. Pays to be a senior. I paid my dues, mang.

Great68 03-29-2023 10:06 AM

Lol, usually juries are overrepresented by seniors because they have all the time in the world and nothing better to do.

One of my retired aunts was actually happy to go do jury duty for that reason haha

I've been called up twice over the years. The first I was still in post sec which was an easy off, the second my employer wrote a letter outlining the impacts to the business, and that got me off the hook as well.

whitev70r 03-29-2023 01:20 PM

^ what is jury duty pay nowadays? So if you're a retired senior doing tai chi at Richmond center, yah, why not make some $$, hear some cray cray shi*tz case ... :lol

Just hope that the case is not some top secret publication ban kind where you have to be sequestered ... now that would not be fun.

Great68 03-29-2023 01:31 PM

First 10 days: $20 a day.
11 to 49 days: $60 a day.
50 days or more: $100 a day.

whitev70r 03-29-2023 01:45 PM

^ yikes ... that's peanuts.

MarkyMark 03-29-2023 02:10 PM

Who in this day and age can actually afford getting jury duty that isn't already retired? Some jobs will pay your wage when you're gone but if your employer doesn't you'd be fucked.

i used airalo as well. downside is no calling as other mention. but if your cell provider/cellphone does wifi calling you can enable that and call via data.

No kidding

It'S YoUR cIVic DUtY!!11!

I guess it's also someone's civic duty to miss a rent payment and get evicted...

Really payment for jury duty should be what EI would provide at the very least

donk. 03-29-2023 06:02 PM

What's the point of a jury when the entire legal system is a circle jerk of bribery and who you know

I guess here in Canada it's not as bad as USA and other highly corrupt countries

68style 03-29-2023 11:04 PM

Yah I mean sometimes sentences aren't what they could be but not sure where it's all who you know and bribery.

You got that right. People can't put together a proper sentence these days if their life depended on it. Spelling errors, grammatical errors, run together sentences, synonyms, homonyms, verb agreement, tense, etc.

And, my all time favourite......... the double negative. Two wongs don't make it white.

Yeah, senior with nothing better to do, but go on jury duty.

Good news is, the Jays are playing their season opener in St. Louis today at 1:10.

Go, Jays, GO!!!

messin' around on RS is now my new hobby..............

fliptuner 03-30-2023 10:43 AM

@MG1 wouldn't your schizophrenia get in the way of making sound decisions?

Or was it PTSD?
