Now it's gonna be mommy groups, kid's birthday parties and group vacations + child.

Quarter life crisis continues lol

So young.... I wish I was 10 years younger.

They’ll regret it lol

From FB alone, I’d say more than half of people I grew up with or went to HS with who had a baby before or around 25 are divorced in an ugly situation.

Now I know divorce rate is probably around 50% so it’s not that abnormal, but when you have a kid as part of it, it gets substantially uglier.

Love the FB posts about their misery though

Damn you joined when you were like 12.. Who let you in!

BIC_BAWS 04-19-2023 05:49 PM

ACTUALLY... I was 14/15 (I think. My join date is 2012?) I think I went to my first RS meet when I was 16 lul. I didn't start posting until 18 and I had a car. Got flamed to oblivion in shitty/dangerous drivers thread lmao

Tbh I don't remember why or how I found the site Revscene. I just remember thinking that this is where all the cool respected car people are.

Probably saw the sticker on Kevin Yong's itr at McDonald's or smt LMAO

Edit: just checked Aug 2013 was the first RS spring meet. And I went with @AstulzerRZD. Kinda cringe thinking about it now cause we needed help putting a Revscene sticker onto a stock silver accord lul

westopher 04-19-2023 06:16 PM

I was 36 when my daughter was born and it was still too early lol. Everyone I know that had a baby before 30 it was an accident other than like 1 buddy.

Great68 04-19-2023 06:20 PM

People can still afford to have kids at 26?

I was also 36 when we had our son because I wanted to make sure we were financially stable. He turns 6 next week.

The first RS met I ever went to, maybe the first meet we ever had, at Langara people were playing “keep up” through residential streets with their lightly modded Hondas lol if you want to talk about dangerous driving etc lol

That must have been in 02 or so.. can still remember it like it was yesterday

N.V.M. 04-19-2023 06:29 PM

is India more populated than China yet? I read a while ago that somewhere mid 2023 it will happen.

I don't think the general public considers how much a child costs before trying to get pregnant.

Hondaracer 04-19-2023 06:32 PM

“Trying”? Lol

westopher 04-19-2023 07:14 PM

No one who has kids at 26 these days can afford it. They do it by accident or they are too dumb to understand how finances work.

i love love love love this program. if you factor in the cost of these vehicles and how much actual seat time you get out of it a year, this porsche drive subscription is great

It's a relative steal considering the monthly payment on these cars are almost as much as the subscription - a 718 GTS is $3k/mo over 6 years, a 911 is about $4k/mo. They provide the insurance, take care of maintenance, and have all the must have equipment on them too.

westopher 04-19-2023 08:09 PM

If I could take a month off work I'd consider doing a 911 for that month.
Maybe I need to look back at my last post in the real estate thread though and remember I'm retarded.

Badhobz 04-19-2023 08:14 PM

Don’t forget whatever car you choose we’ll have to set it on fire with you in it later. Per your request and all

westopher 04-19-2023 08:15 PM

E36 is coming with me. Daughter gets the e30 to either pay for her first condo or pay for a hamburger depending on which way the economy goes.

underscore 04-19-2023 10:04 PM

Is that only a North American thing or does Porsche have it in Europe too? Touring around there in a Porsche for a month would be a pretty sweet bucket list trip.

Razor Ramon HG 04-20-2023 03:35 AM

Anyone know a service/company in Vancouver where I can buy a bunch of shit off Taobao, send it to their warehouse in China and they ship it over here for pickup? There's one in Toronto called huijia.ca which apparently costs like $5 per kilo via sea freight.

EDIT: Not looking to go through an agent like Superbuy that does individual shipping or to do Taobao direct shipping. Just bang for your buck shipping for non-time sensitive items.

As of 2 hours ago, yes

This is an excellent thread on India's demographics compared to China

Badhobz 04-20-2023 05:12 AM

Make China great again !!!

I think it's NA only though, like NA, Germany has Experience Centers where you can get track time and training. I'm fairly certain that there are companies in Europe where you can rent cars like Porsches for a bucket list trip - I'd guess that it's not as well priced as doing it directly with Porsche though.

Non-scientific bullshit observation about the Lower Mainland. But almost everyone I encounter that's non-white seems to be Indian now. And I'm not talking about the buddy guy Surrey type. The FOB straight outta Punjab type. Whereas 10-20 years ago everyone was some variety of Chinese. Where'd all you guys go? Did I miss a memo or something? :heckno:

Badhobz 04-20-2023 08:30 AM

its been going on for a while now
- cant immigrate directly to toronto or vancouver. gotta stay in butt fuck quebec for a while first
- foreign buyers tax
- anti china rhetoric by trudeau and friends makes a lot of mainlanders uncomfortable
- high taxes on everything luxury

but indians are probably just bringing over extended families while we only have 1 child policy kids so chinese population is dwindling.

also the local chinese population arent having many kids and instead wanna just become huge douches who just consume consume consume (talking about myself here).

CivicBlues 04-20-2023 08:48 AM

Yeah can confirm I went from the only yellow face in a sea of white ones growing up in the westside in the 90s. Then surrounded by FOB Chineses throughout HS/Uni and feeling othered most of the time. Now surrounded in a sea of brown (Indian, Persian, Latino) faces everywhere. It's been a wild ride living in the LML. :toot:
