Just stumbled onto this while I was googling. Ever wanted to compare external dimensions of 2 cars from different years and models? This gives a visual and a specific measurement comparison of front, side, rear ... pretty cool website! https://www.carsized.com/en/cars/com...0-estate/rear/ |
Thanks for the input everyone. We just bought a Toyota Sienna AWD that came with M+S rated tires on them, so I was contemplating what to do. I think i'll just use the M+S for now and i'll buy dedicated Winter Tires for the Winter. It'll be my main family car so I want to make sure we have the most amount of grip during the Winter. Costco has the Michelin X-Ice Snows for ~$300 right now and the guy said they'll go 20% off sometime in the next couple months, so just look out for that as it's the best deal of the year. |

M+S performance really depends on the tire itself. My Kia Soul came with these M+S rated Nexen NPriz AH8 tires that I have no confidence in on regular weather, let alone mud/snow. Really tempted to just chuck those out and get a set of Pilot Sport 5 tires, but I'm too cheap to dispose something that's still usable. |
Thanks, my guy, I appreciate that. I never thought I would be driving a mini-van, but I have to admit it's super practical and it's going to be awesome for road trips. I do miss the performance every now and then, but practicality wins out... Being a parent shifts your paradigm completely. |
my subaru forester comes with M+S too and it had no issues the past winter, was kind of nice driving in the snow-pacalypse :lol |
Subaru's AWD system is a true AWD system and some may argue it's the best.. The Sienna's AWD system isn't true AWD, there's only a small electric motor that drives the rear wheels, and there's no mechanical connection. So i'm not that confident in Toyota's AWD claim for it. |
Isn’t Subaru system a halidex system ? It’s not like the old torsen systems where there is a vicious fluid and wheels are powered at all times. |

my sport also comes with x-mode (mud/slush or deep snow settings), though i never really needed it but from watching youtube vids it seems to control acceleration and power distribution to wheels |

Think this video covers Subaru's different AWD systems: |
If a seller in the States insists on using UPS, do I still have to pay their stupid brokerage fees if I ship the package to Point Roberts? |
^^^ No. |

I was watching a video where this guy was testing different cars with AWD and he put those rollers on the wheels to test them and the Toyota system did amoungst the worst in the test. The comments suspect the electric motor that powers the wheels isn't strong enough to generate enough power. |
Anyone have local (Canada) rim store suggestions? Looking at getting wheels for the C7, 1010 tires and all those stores don't even let you enter the model into their system because of the staggered wheels + very high offsets. Not much selection in Canada. Might need to buy from USA, seems to have the most options. 2-3k USD range |

I don't think shit wheels typically come in Corvette sizes. A bit too big and a bit too niche. |

Not sure what their wheel selection is like, but suspension they were far and above the best price in Canada for my KWs. Like same price as exchange + shipping from anywhere else and no duties to end up paying which would have probably been like 4-$600 Quote:

I don’t want to presume, ever since I found out that GS8 wasnt a white guy, but donk driving a vette with fancy wheels is straight up excellent. |

Corvette = white. |
I really hope he's a 4foot nothing, 600lb chinaman driving a corvette. We need this sort of representation to widen the car market and to show everyone HEY ITS OKAY TO BUY AMERICAN and youre still badass cool. |
He’d probably be buying a 94 miata if that was the case |
