I used it in Cali and it was great. But the experience would very depending on the host. The one I used had over 200 cars in LA and had locations in 3 states.

It's funny, I played a LOT of video games as a kid & teens, even played a bit into my 20's. But somewhere along the way I lost nearly all interest in video games. Like once in a while on a blue moon and rainy day I'll fire up the Wii and play for an hour or so with my son, but otherwise I can't really remember the last new game I sat down and put the hours in to intentionally play through. Probably a decade or more, like maybe one of the Call of Duty's or something like that.

my style/tastes in gaming changed as i aged, i can't do grind/RPG's anymore
i like the quick games of FPS where i can turn it off after a game/round.

during the pandemic with nothing to do at home i discovered game streaming.

I totally agree that watching someone play a game to learn something can be useful if you're looking to improve.

What really annoys me is when my kid watches a Youtuber play games with others and all they're doing is laughing/screaming/goofing off. Entertaining? Maybe, but what a waste of time...

How is it different than watching sports? I don't think anyone on RS is trying to make the NHL or the UFC.

That's a bit different... if you're old enough to be on RS, you're old enough to make your own decisions. I have no right to dictate what you do with your spare time. And watching sports, the people playing are competing, not screwing around just wasting time.

My younger son's 9 and he gets plenty of screen time already. I'd rather him play an actual video game than watch someone play a video game but with no real purpose.

My older teenage son also spends a lot of time on the computer. He's either playing a game, or watching someone play so that he can learn and get better himself.

I find that watching people on twitch is a decent way to passively kill time or whatever, even into my 40's. It has to be a very specific type of streamer, but there's millions of them so it's not hard to find one I like.

If I'm eating lunch at home alone, or chilling before bed after my wife has already gone to sleep, times like that.

And yeah when I played a lot of Apex, I got a lot better at the game after watching good players
