I’m a friend of crows and generally the ones around my place seem to recognize me and not bother me even when I’m out washing the car or gardening etc

My wife though, she picked up some churches chicken to bring to her grandmas place and she had a crow dive bomb her for like 5 blocks lol she was considering tossing a peice of chicken to them to throw them off

Kinda a weird question, but I thought I would try everywhere since I'm having a hard time finding the right candidate.

Does anyone know any person or company providing service for a personal chef that they can recommend?

By personal chef, I don't mean anything super fancy or catering (pretty much 99.999% of search result falls in these), but someone who would do some normal house food/grocery shopping, prep, and come to our house to cook (or at their place, doesn't matter) on a weekly basis.

Both my wife and I are taking on bigger roles in our profession, leaving us less and less time for the kids. So we started looking for extra time.

Long story short, food preparation is taking a good chunk of personal time we have for the family on a constant basis. Thus, we are wondering that if anything/anyone out there provide a service like this or point me to the right direction?

Our idea is that if someone can take over the grocery shopping and food prep/cooking, we can gain a chunk of our time back and devote it to the kids while making little adjustments in our life.

At first we thought about trying a few "meals delivery" services. But from F&F who had experience with them, the main problem is that you are eating off their menu. There's no way they can do specific dishes for one family and then different for another one. Or sometimes they are trying too hard to be "gourmet" or fancy when all we are looking for are traditional family dishes.

So, any comments would be appreciated. We are really looking to get some help.

Shoot me a message. I can point you in a decent direction maybe but would need more info on expectations for types of meals, how often, and if you'd want something just prepared and ready to go for you to just finish the cooking, or full on meals on plates for you every night.
I'll be straight with you though, if it's the latter, private chefs are big money.

That's funny, I am about to be my roommate's personal chef/shopper when she moves out later this year... I am curious how much to charge.. We looked at some options and it seems to be pretty decent $. Might want to look into doing this for some more people if it works out. Won't take too many clients to make decent money out of it.

I'm curious to know how much the options are that you're looking at over there.

I’ll shoot you a msg if I find anything.

What I need really though it’s nothing fancy or prepping right in front of my eyes.

I think it’s more like the prep chefs in a restaurant, especially Chinese. But it’s really the same everyone else.

So, for any given dish, they would have materials ready for the heads chef to do their magic. The actual cooking for each dish is usually a few minutes. But the prepping of those materials is something that starts everyday before the restaurant is open and goes all the way to the closing.

I don’t mind cooking and rather enjoy it. But the prepping and shopping is taking too much time. If I can pay someone to do the grocery shopping according to what I have in mind for the week then prep them into individual boxes, washed and cut in the way I need them to be., all I have to do is is cook them until they are to my liking, that’d save me so much time.

But of course, if they can work their magic and leave all ready to eat, just warm it up, I’m up for that too. Ideally it’s for them to come once a week and I don’t need to think about it too much.

Yeah that's pretty much what I'd be doing.. Shopping, prep, cook, then drop it off at her place in the evening so she can heat it up. Also have enough for lunch the next day. We're thinking maybe do a weekly menu she sends, and go from there.

I don't think it would be worth doing without going all the way with it... as in, I'd want to cook the meals too, and if you wanted to, I don't think there would be much of a price break. That's just my idea though, maybe you'll find someone.

Sounds like you might want to hire a part time domestic helper maybe?

What do you think the former costs around per week of meals?

If you are looking for weekly meals look at Facebook marketplace. You are looking at $250 to $400 a month per person.

ChatGTP now has an instacart plugin. You tell ChatGTP what you want to eat for the week. It will come up with recipes and the ingredients you need and the instacart plugin will order them for you.

That sounds quite low.. is it for 1 meal 5 times a week per month? Groceries cost extra? Delivery extra?

Breakfast lunch and dinner x 20 for $335 USD? That's $5.58 per meal! Insane!

Makes me wonder what size the portions are

I'm on a moderate? cut (1500cal/day) and I still come out to around $25-$30 a day and that's not accounting for time+energy+profit

Though ab 1/3rd+ is protein for me so that does increase the price I guess

Found this site which sells licensed (from Honda and F1) vintage design Honda clothing. Ordered a few shirts from them and they're pretty good quality with correct sizing. Yuki Tsunoda was spotted wearing their gear and looks like Honda's Indycar team has worn their stuff too.

Check your local facebook community group. You should join it just to keep up to date on what's going on in your neighbourhood anyway.

I'm sure a lot of people would be willing to help you out. They may not be professionals, but it would be more like home cooked style of food.

I came across an ad yesterday on marketplace and I couldn’t tell if it was a dating ad or selling food

It just said “Indian” with the first picture of a smiling Indian guy on a bike and then the second picture was two empty dishes in a bag. Then the description said “2 roti and 1 vege”
