After seeing that Chinese grandma spit at my car for no apparent reason, the last thing we need is more food trends that encourage China fucks to spit |
Lol, I saw a video of that recently. Thought it was a prank video until I looked into it. |
well you guys ate spicy fried clams? shell tastes better than the meat :lol |

https://i.imgur.com/YIewb2p.jpg A friend who lives down in Colorado sent me this pic. Said he paid off his car today and it got dented to shit. Never seen hail that large in my life. Dozens injured as apple-sized hailstones hit Colorado concertgoers https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/...ouis-tomlinson Nature you crazy. |

The red is just from food dye. Supposedly it's Red 40 which is banned in some countries for causing adverse health effects. *Bites into double quarter pounder with extra McChicken sauce* |
Is Tofino worth visiting? Ive never been to Tofino but from the looks of google maps, it doesnt seem that interesting. The town looks really small (lack of interesting shops / food options for my wife) and that beach you cant even drive on (unlike long beach washington). Sell it to me boys! |
i heard there are a lot of rocks she can eat lol |

It was a nice trip to relax and decompress. |
Not right now, the highway through the Island No. 4 is shut down. |
Nice hikes, surfing, one of the best restaurants in canada (wolf in the fog) tofino brewing for beer. It's good, but I've been way too many times and I'm over it tbh, but well worth going to. Fishing charter was fun, golf course was the worst course I've ever played. |
Some fancy beach and spa places out there like Pacific Sands or Black Rock that will suit the missus . The drive (when not shut down ) is pretty sweet and windy. Great beach views and a few cool nature walks/hikes. For gulf island restaurants I preferred pilgrimme on Galiano over Wolf. |
Pilgrimme was great, but there is NOTHING to do on Galiano. Which can be nice, but might make Hobz wife angry. I like wolf more because it's more social. The whole "the food is the experience" is less my vibe. Wolf is a party with exceptional food. |
And you might bump into the Trudeau family surfing at Tofino ... |

We joked during one of our trail/beach walks that it might happen and a RCMP tac team would come out of the woods to secure a perimeter and Justin would come strolling out. 10 minutes later, we see 15 identically dressed people in dark cop blue gortex come out of the trailhead onto the beach we were at. It's happening! We thought. Turns out it was a local seniors hiking/walking group in their club swag. |
Tofino is a great place to chill. Been there twice during storm season - not much to do but sit around and eat. Stayed at the Pacific sands both times and it's great, right near the water. The drive out is pretty nice too. |

I bought an electronic item (coupe hundred bucks) online from Staples. Item shows delivered at my home and photo proof at my door steps. Tracking shows no signature required, item wasn't there (someone jacked it). Also keep in mind I am home everyday as I work from home, no one rang the door or contacted me. So I contact Staples to ask them why no signature was not required, and their customer support said signature is required for all high value items (and they don't know why FedEx just left it without signature). I shop online often, so I know all the routines of the different couriers. Most nowadays hand deliver to someone at the home, or leave a pick up card (especially for a high value item). So I asked them to refund me or reship me a new one, as it doesn't make sense the customer absorbs this. They told me to go file a chargeback with my credit card company to get my money back. Now I'm confused why they can't just refund me, and make me go through the work via my CC to resolve. |
Feels like FedEx should take some responsibility for delivering without a signature, especially if the item was beyond the threshold of value which requires signature. From Staples point of view ... hard for them to absorb this. A bad intentioned customer can claim exactly what you did and just made up story that it wasn't there. |

Tofino is for just relaxing and chilling, sitting by the beach. really need to get a resort or camping(need to book way way ahead) by the beach to enjoy it. I've been to pacific sands beach resort and Ocean Village Resort both right next to the beach. Ocean Village was the best, got 2BR cabin on the beach for $500 per night last year around early June. Not bad for 4 ppl This was 2022, still some covid stuff so we didn't want to go outside of Canada, but with everything open now, I don't know if I would go to Tofino again... you have to factor in, the BCferries price, gas, 4 hours driving from Nanaimo etc etc... |
If $$ is no object, and you drive quite a nice car, then book at Wickaninnish Inn ... if you can get a rez that is https://www.wickinn.com/ |
^ah yes, this is the one her friend recommended to us. Apparently she stayed there before and had a great time. |
If you are planning to go to Tofino towards late July/August just be aware that the weather can be pretty foggy and it might not burn off until late afternoon (Last time I went it was 4pm most days before the sun finally broke through). The locals don't call it "Fogust" for nothing. |
Several years ago, my dad laid down some 2x4 as edging for the garden into the ground. It's all rotting now, so I'm planning on pulling them out and replacing them. Brought some plastic edging home, then realized it looks like shit, so now I'm thinking about either just doing wooden edging again or just using some pavers. If going for wooden edging, would this pressure treated stuff be fine? It's not their ground contact rated stuff. https://www.homedepot.ca/product/mic...ly-/1000790082 If going pavers, would this Quikrete sand work for the base layer under the paver + filling in the joints between the pavers? https://www.homedepot.ca/product/qui...6kg/1000181127 |
i may be paranoid and will let the gardeners chime in but i think for planters and the like, you use something like cedar and avoid treated wood to avoid chemicals leeching in to the soil, unless you have like a membrane to separate the wood vs the soil you use for gardening. |
