This stuff is only used to fill in the joints between pavers, not suitable for the base layer.

We had pros put in paver patio last year, and they used road gravel, tamped down, before putting in the pavers.

This was a pretty good video:

i may be paranoid and will let the gardeners chime in but i think for planters and the like, you use something like cedar and avoid treated wood to avoid chemicals leeching in to the soil, unless you have like a membrane to separate the wood vs the soil you use for gardening.

I was reading that micronized copper azole (which MicroPro uses) is safe for garden beds, so leeching shouldn't be a concern. I actually converted the garden into raised beds, so might be even less of a concern.

Yeah, I was hoping to do something like this.

Just watched the video again and he used a sand/concrete mix, so it looks like this Quikrete is better.

Doesn't look like he fills in the joints, but maybe the joint filler is more of a necessity when you're laying down pavers for a walkway?

Razor Ramon HG - Your attention is required, please.

Inquiring minds want to know if:
1. That is really you in your avatar
2. Are you 70'ish something years old
3. Do you have some kind of souped up Civic
4. Do you wear a leather g-string or something

Thank you for your time.

^ and is your favourite song YMCA by the Village People?

So old pressure treated wood used to be treated with CCA (Chromated Copper Arsenate). That's the bad, green looking stuff (due to the Arsenic), and it was banned for use for residential construction in 2003.

The two replacement treatment types are:

- Alkaline Copper Quat (ACQ)
- Copper Azole (CA-B)
(The stuff in the home depot link is CA-B)

These are safer, and probably OK to use for garden beds without ill effects.

I personally use cedar for all my garden beds though.
But that's also because I have a hookup through the owner of Millinear Lumber: http://www.millinearlumber.com/

Yeah that's more what the joint filler is used for, the sand you've linked above is probably more suited for levelling base. The joint filler hardens when exposed to water and locks the pavers from moving laterally.

Tofino is good, but I wouldn't go this time of year personally.

Last time we went back in May of last year, we stayed at Crystal Cove Beach Resort. They have these cabins with your own private hot tub and wood fireplace in the cabin itself, beautiful view of the beach while sitting in your own hot tub.

Don't go in the summer, it's too busy and the weather is shit, shoulder season is better (Spring, or September/Oct/Nov).

Your wife will be choked as you're driving in beautiful sunny 25C weather from Nanaimo over to freezing ass cloudy/rainy Tofino at 10ish degrees in the damn summer.

Right this moment it's 25 in Vancouver, but 12 in Tofino. I just came back from Portland with some buddies and we did a day trip to Cannon Beach on Friday. It was 30c in Portland, and 10C in Cannon Beach, a 20 degree difference our stupid asses weren't prepared for, needless to say we got our shorts wearing, colored asses out of there in an hour flat, Tofino is no different :lol

If you want to be wearing a puffer jacket and pants in the middle of summer, go float your boat, otherwise I'd wait. We only get a few nice warm months in this city, go to the Okanagan instead.

I was told by the Home Depot guy to use this instead for my pavers and it did the trick. Different kind of project for me though but I imagine it'll work the same way for you.

So I met 68/69style and dukes up for coffee downtown and this random Asian girl goes straight up to 69 and starts asking him “directions”. All the while bypassing me and dukes (I guess we look like serial rapists)

Mr 69 shows her around and has a very very friendly interaction with this young woman.

Fuck this. Lousy Asian bitch magnet. Must be that white guy big dick energy.

Were you wearing Kirkland? If you weren't there is your reason.

68style 06-27-2023 03:47 PM

I just have one of those faces... when you don't want to punch me, you want to love me

Badhobz 06-27-2023 04:00 PM

In other news. Nice driving fucktard. She looks like the same one that ask 69 for directions.

For the record:

1. Re: 68style - I am out of word on how this even happened. We were totally invisible to her (Asian racist!) I love how she literally ran straight up to him and starts acting like she's lost.
2. Re: Parking - LOL!

Otherwise, good meet up. Thanks for coffee, Badhobz! :)

I saw in the thread you posted that you used sand as well, I guess to act as an additional leveler? Which one did you use?
