Yeah, we have a bunch of old stuff that can't be recycled. Wasn't sure how it worked, so figured I'd ask. I live in Burnaby, so I usually go to the Eco Center/Regional Recycling for my monthly recycables, but this time it's mostly all junk that would take forever to throw out via normal means. Going to rent a van from Home Depot and try to do it within that $18 for 75 minutes rental time, lmao. |
Burnaby? Well then, go to the Coquitlam Transfer Station. Much nicer and more, "modern," lol. Then, you have excuse to go Princess Auto. Get on Freeway and get off at Brunette and turn right. Go to Braid Street and take the Bailey Bridge. The transfer station is pretty much on the other side. Traffic because of the train crossing can be a bitch, so you can go along Lougheed and turn right at King Edward and onto the overpass. |
Go to the United Blvd (Coquitlam) Transfer Station. Much better in terms of access and line ups. New, large facility that's well staffed. |
I'm surprised no one on this forum was making fun of all of us at Burning Man and the muddy Fyrefest 2023 it turned into :lol Fucking brutal. |
The only thing worse than burning man is the guy telling you about burning man? Lol What happened with you? Did you manage to hitch a ride out or what, looked pretty crazy |
A bunch of rich people pretending to be hippies who don't know how to air down their tires? I definitely wasn't laughing my ass off. |

If there was anyone that could have survived the Mud Fest, I figured it would have been Mikemhg LOL~ |
So I've been on the Mainland this weekend, was invited to a Golf Tournament at Golden Eagle on Thursday by one of my customers. Made it a few holes and noticed one distinctive mustachio'd golfer... Realised it was Dave Babych haha! Talked to him a bit later at the dinner, nice guy! |
I think that will be my last Burn for a while here. Getting too old for this shit, I only have a good 2-3 days in me to "party" nowadays. Yes, the mud sucked hard, our grey water/black water tanks were full for 4 days straight, needless to say I didn't shit for a few days as well (highly unlike me) :lol I can't complain though, people in tents had it rough, we were in a very nice luxurious RV, and our camp (primarily comprised of wealthy Taiwanese/Californians) had excellent food. King crab legs by the boatload unlimitted cuts of AAA Prime Rib steaks, endless bottles of Casamigos and fine scotches, and any drugs you can imagine. Not the worst way to spend 3 days cooped up in an RV with 7 people, I suppose? We woke up Monday morning at the crack of dawn, fired that bitch up and blitzed out way outta the mudfest, people were cutting each other off, getting stuck, total chaos. We were out in about an hour or so, people that stayed later into the day ended up taking 10+ hours to get out. Needless to say it wasn't the Burn we wanted, but it was the Burn we deserved. |
any drugs!? ANY DRUGS?!?!?! i wanna smoke opium. My ancestors would be proud that i partook in the downfall of our civilization by rehashing that old nugget. I dont get the premise of burning menz. So you go into the desert, you watch a 10 foot tall stick man catch fire. then you.... what? eat / drink / do drugs? why do you need the desert part of it, or the stick man ? |
The rain has continued over the days, and there's still flooding in areas... Some of these clips are right down the road from me.. I can't go that direction at all right now |
see anyone pull out a boat/kayak and navigate the streets of rivers, or is the water going at too much a speed to try or not deep enough? |

Sure people at my camp were doing DMT, LSD, Acid, Mushrooms, Coke, K, Molly, etc. I actually didn't do any of these, (aside from a few choice bumps of K and a little Pepsi which don't count) :lol I'll see if I can post a few pics of some stuff I liked while out there, the art stuff is really cool, it's just insane how massive the whole playa is, the sheer scope and magnitude of it all is what's really daunting. There are people that chase DJs there going from sound stage to art car looking for the big names to roll high as well for hours to the same repetitious tracks, not my thing. I way more enjoy riding around on my bike going to smaller camps and talking shit with the NASA Aerospace Engineer with his balls hanging out taking shots of Maker's Mark. One night I sat in the Amethyst Bar for a few hours at 3AM getting drunk off boozy Wormwood drinks while talking to this old Dutch dude who worked on CRISPR, and pivoted over to neural-interface technology. That's the cool shit at Burning Man, not all that other crap. |
But... topless girls using LED hula hoops............ :fullofwin: |

Has anyone been to pre-season NHL games in the past few seasons? I got a few free pre-season tickets to the Anaheim Ducks vs. San Jose Sharks while I'm in Los Angeles in a few weeks at the Honda Centre. Not sure what to expect for a game there and especially a pre-season game. Thanks in advance. |
I'm not a Beattles fan, but on a whim, I ordered the 50th Anniversary Edition Abbey Road Deluxe 4 disc (3 CD's and 1 Blue Ray with Dolby Atmos, DTS-HD Master Audio, and PCM Stereo capabilities) collection. The real gem is the 100 page hard cover booklet with tonnes of amazing images from the artists to the recording process. Studio shots and images of the artists with various instruments. Previously unreleased photos and music. The sound in Dolby Atmos is short of heaven. Again, not a Beattles fan, but the sound is incredible. Completely remastered from 8 track recording by some pretty well known engineers at Abbey Road Studios. A little too heavy on the bass and sounds I've never heard before on other masters.................. https://www.amazon.ca/Abbey-Annivers...r%2C128&sr=1-1 Arrived in two days flat via Prime. Came in bulletproof double box. It would even survive a Purolator delivery. COT DAM!! Addendum: After listening to all three modes, Dolby Atmos is by far the best, but even with the latest equipment, you are using source material that has degraded over time. Every time you play a tape, information deteriorates. That was one of the things Fleetwood Mac Rumours suffered from. Engineers on that remaster, had little to no choice but to use backups on some cuts. High frequencies like high hat and cymbals just sound like something coming out of a space ship exhaust pipe (can't think of anything else, atm). Nothing beats a live performance, but when that's not possible............................. |
The one image from the book that made me jbol, is the buck (some would say butt) naked photo of John Lennon and Yoko Ono. Funny thing is, John has a nicer butt than Yoko, hands down. No homo. Linda McCartney is in one of the photos, but that Ono woman makes her way into more photos than she needs, or deserves, to be in. Images of receipts and hand drawn notes and drawings. Really cool stuff............ sans Yoko Ono. |
i use raid on Beatles and they seem to scatter, you should try that old man! https://cdn.rona.ca/images/0166217a_L.jpg |
