Surrey was designated the "car theft capital of North America" by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in 2002.[4] Their bait car program was launched by the Vancouver Police in 2002 and has contributed to a 55% drop in auto theft since then.[5][6][7]

i guess the bait car program works

No doubt it is or least was a problem and I'd always hear how bad it was just never really experienced it. Also if I remember right it was only a handful of thieves that were responsible for the majority of those thefts.

Now having some crackhead smash your window to steal 50 cents out of your ashtray, that was much more common.

Immobilizers being mandatory factory equipment for all cars sold in Canada starting 2007 might have also been a big part of that stat...

He finally decided his way to do it was he as going to get it going toward the tree with the driver door open and then when he was close enough he was going to jump out and roll to safety while the car hit the tree like some action hero hahahahaha pillow became the backup plan if he got tangled up getting out.

So he finally decides he's going to do it, we're all egging him on, he takes a couple of practice runs and he's driving so slow and we're like GO FASTER YOU MORON and he guns it and last minute he chickens out, swerves away from the tree, knocks the passenger mirror off on the tree, hits a big bump on the grass and comes tumbling out the drivers door, almost gets run over by the back wheels and then the car went by itself down the road until it hit a curb... hahahahaha even to this day I can't stop laughing every time I think about it.

He chickens out and decides to drive home, on the way home a police car pulls him over and gives him a ticket for not having a mirror lolol

literally LOL'd at that story, great shit

Fucking pillow lol

Anyone want a naturally aspirated Honda V-8 with VTEC?

Quote:

Well, it finally happened: Honda built a V-8. Unfortunately, it won't be showing up in a Ridgeline or a Pilot or an exceptionally boisterous Civic. No, the BF350 is an outboard engine, so if you want to rock Honda V-8 power, you'll need a boat—and not a small one. Intended for boats 25 feet and longer, the BF350 makes an easy 350 horsepower at 5500 rpm. We'd guess that's the least amount of power it'll ever make, since that rating is on bunker-fuel 86 octane and the full throttle range extends to 6000 rpm. (Outboard manufacturers are allowed a 10 percent fudge factor on rated horsepower to account for production variances, which leads to some hilariously underrated motors like the Mercury 200 ProXS—a 4.6-liter V-8 that's rated at 200 horsepower.)

Anyone use a mobile wheel repair service that they'd recommend? My wife has, once again, curbed up my wheels pretty good and I'm thinking of getting someone to come fix it rather than take it to Green's.

Traum 09-22-2023 07:39 PM

If it is bad enough, and if it has been repaired before, would it be a better option to replace the wheel with a new one?

Razor Ramon HG 09-22-2023 08:48 PM

Alloy Wheel Repair can come to your house, but it's like a $80 charge and then it's $140 per wheel.

They have set up shops at some dealerships if you can drop off the vehicle for a few hours. One at the BMW on Boundary and another at the automall in Richmond.

Not as thorough as say Greens, but it get the job done for your standard OEM wheels.

It's not so bad that a new wheel is needed (yet) and this one is for a different wheel than the last one (though the one I had repaired also has new damage) so it I can get a reasonable job done then I'll do that.

Green's was charging $195 plus $25 to remount the tire back in 2021 which is about half the cost of a new wheel. It's just the hassle of taking it out to them and getting it back.

tegra7 09-23-2023 04:46 PM

Wheel medic on Victoria dr do house calls and have reasonable prices compared to the other two mentioned above.

HELP ME RS!

So a bathroom fixture LED bulb burnt out and i tried to replace it with another one of these wall scone LED bulbs. Unfortunately, i got it jammed into this LED crystal covering as apparently it is the right size, but its too damn fat and is now stuck.

I tried to yank the bulb out but ended up only taking off the back plug and now the stupid shit is stuck in there permanently.

1) go to lighting store and buy a new bulb covering
2) go throw the broken LED bulb back at home depot in anger
3) kill myself for not checking the width before screwing on the bulb cover

MG1 09-24-2023 07:40 AM

Soldering iron and melt the plastic?

Dremel tool?

hud 91gt 09-24-2023 08:32 AM

Drill it out, cut/file the edge. If you get all the way through, we’ll it should just pull out with some pressure. MG1 suggestion will work great too.

Badhobz 09-24-2023 08:55 AM

Don’t have a soldering iron but I can dremel cut the plastic I think. Or just drill like you guys said. Not a bad idea at all. Thanks gents !

MG1 09-24-2023 09:11 AM

I just wanted to go with you to Home Depot to witness the ranting. Tongue lashing. Actually, if it's the Burnaby Henning Drive location, there's not a single woman there I'd want to give a tongue lashing to.................

Hondaracer 09-24-2023 09:32 AM

Given how ugly those balls are I’d say just buy a new fixture lol

MG1 09-24-2023 09:47 AM

^too hilarious
