holy shit does Vancouver ever suck in comparison.
There is no comparison. Everything is significantly better, fresher, faster and more tasty. I haven’t been back to Hong Kong since 2005 and I totally miss the food here

Not sure how these people aren’t all 300lb++ with the crazy food they have here.

Even the hookers at the end of temple street looked delicious. I said to spy balloon I want some chicken ! And she pulled me away

If you have access to a car and/or want to uber/taxi, I enjoyed my visit to this old-style dim-sum place:

Speaking of HK food, just learned that Kam Ding in Coquitlam is closing in two weeks as the owner is retiring.

It's been a favorite of mine since moving out to Coquitlam, I'm devastated. Old school cart dim sum.

I never knew there was cart dim sum out there! Gonna make a trip out there before they close.

I only know of Golden Swan in Vancouver and Continental in Richmond for push-cart dim sum. What other places have them?

MG1 10-25-2023 12:53 AM

Does Pink Pearl still have Dim Sum? I haven't been there in a long ass time. They had cart dim sum the last time I was there.

Yeah I can’t stay here too long. I’ll end up with a small wife smaller than my existing wife and a Lexus LM.

"Small Wife" is a literal word-by-word translation of concubine / mistress:

small = 小
wife = 老婆

小老婆 = concubine / mistress

So Badhobz was basically saying he would be picking up a concubine in Hong Kong :lol

Went to McDonalds yesterday morning for the 'ol Sausage 'n Egg combo w/ double hashbrown and it came out to $13.29 USD = $18.36 CAD. WHAT!!

The extra hashbrown alone came out to $3.19+tax!

Grumble grumble... back when I used to work at McDonalds, there was a button for 2 hashbrowns, and it definitely wasn't $3...

Anyway, I'd rather have the Lido satay beef noodle, good lord. For my $18 at least I'm getting some wok hei.
