how crap, that's really cheap. I do have a pair of UB 22, but they are not as comfortable as my older ones... |
I vastly prefer the UB22 to that old style but the old style is still very comfortable. I can’t believe how well the UB22 have held up, used them for 4 months daily travelling, climbing rocks and all sorts of shit, then used as daily since and they still look new. Some of the best shoes I’ve ever owned |

Here's a trick I got after I learned doing meal prep from a pro. Go to a packaging supply store, get microwavable containers like this: https://lppackaging.ca/collections/c...eli-containers They come in different sizes, stack nicely on top of each other and use SAME SIZE lids. Fully transparent so you can see what's in there. They are microwave/dishwasher safe and if it gets to a point where it's no longer in shape, toss it in the recycle bin. Costs few dimes each and SOOOO much neater. I got a few pack of them from a friend who has a resto 2yrs back. I'm not even half way through. The only major difference would be glass containers might lock better. But nothing a rubber band wouldn't fix for me. |
The tree hugger in me cringes....................... but only for a millisecond. Glass is totally recyclable and easier to clean than any other material. Plus, it resists staining and prevents contamination from harmful chemicals. https://purpleturtleco.com/blogs/new...r%20to%20clean. https://www.thespruceeats.com/best-g...ainers-4154183 |
Not that I give two shits about it, but the Stanley Park Christmas Mini Train is back on track. https://vancouver.citynews.ca/2023/1...on%20in%202022. If you have kids, it’s great news. Lots of fond memories with the children. Maybe daughter might want to go. My sons would be like, WTF, dad. |

good design especially the gasket but poor quality glass. both broke within several months. the other two have been going for over a year now without problems. |
Costco Starfit(?) Snap n Lock whatever things. The gasket is removable. I don't toss the lids into the dishwasher to avoid warping. |

The plastic used in the container I listed (can't remember which type), but when I was reading about it, it was highly recyclable because it was easy to break it down. Should you be more environmentally conscious, one could also choose to buy pretty much the same containers, but made out of recycled plastics instead of new. Slightly more expensive. Works the same, and way more environmentally friendly than those plastics used as lids on glass containers because it's hard to break them down (takes more procecees, hence more energy). Because ultimately, it's not about that it's made out of plastic, but rather whether or not it could be properly recycled. And you are not throwing away after one use. It just gets washed and re-used. You only recycle them when they reach their limit. Which is quite long. I'd say I've only recycled about 10 of them. Out of the 100 or so I've used. |

Had to google that for ya, I do the same but worry about microplastics. |

Glasslock is the brand at Costco i think. I've only had issues with 3 pieces over two sets I've used during the last 10 years. One container, the glass lip broke and the plastic tab won't lock anymore, it would have been still usable if it wasn't for the sharp glass edge, as the other 3 tabs would still lock. Two lids, the plastic tab fell off at the hinge from wear and tear. One's still usable as the tabs fell off on opposite sides. The asian side of me won't let me buy "disposable" plastic containers. I just wash and reuse take out containers. It'll be a sad day when those those finally get banned. I'll be ok for years though, I'm still not out of old plastic shopping bags that I'm using for garbage can liners. |

The oxo ones are good for not leaking liquids, and has a thicker gasket. But yeah the glass lips do chip a bit. |
