Next day. Maintenance minder is 15% A1 service.:suspicious:

Badhobz 11-13-2023 05:33 PM

Does anyone else like to build plastic model airplanes? i got this for 23 bucks off amazon and found it pretty fun to build. I didnt paint it / place emblems / put on weapon systems yet but the aircraft is done

Gumby 11-13-2023 06:22 PM

I prefer LEGO model kits:

But these custom kits are extremely expensive - custom printing, fancy packaging, limited numbers, etc.

You’re looking at just over US$1k for this

Badhobz 11-13-2023 06:34 PM

wtf! thats epic

Well it’s done. It’s kinda crappy kit but what can you do for 23 bucks.
I was trying to find the old American revell kit that I used to make when I was a kid but no such luck.

These custom kits are nuts, and the problem is a lot of these sellers are a crapshoot in terms of what kind of quality you are getting.

Lego's rule on not creating any weapons means you'll never see that from Lego officially. They made the Osprey V22 helicopter and there was backlash over it because it's a military only aircraft

Badhobz 11-14-2023 09:57 AM

i went to church's chicken for that 3 piece special. it was 17 dollars after taxes

Since when is it 15.99 for 3 pieces of chicken.

Just a year or two ago it was 18.99 for 8 pieces of chicken and now its 17 bucks for 3 peices of chicken + fries and a drink!?

:okay:

there's no longer any good cheap eats around.

edit: co worker just notified me that i got jipped. There's a coupon that lowers it to 13 bucks instead of 15.99

Razor Ramon HG 11-14-2023 10:00 AM

I remember when I used to get off work and make Churches' runs with my coworkers, lol. It was $3.99 or something for the two piece with fries. The cashiers at the Slocan location didn't care if we used the online coupon more than once.

Popeye's 3 piece platter (2 sides and a bigass drink) is around $17 w/ tax, and I find their chicken is better.

headhunt3r 11-14-2023 10:32 AM

BK has a deal going on til the 19th thru their app - $2 for 8 nuggets. Sure, you can complain about needing the app, or that it used to be $1 for 10, but now that 3 piece meals are $15+, this deal makes for a good snack.

HonestTea 11-14-2023 10:42 AM

Churches is so expensive nowadays...

Razor Ramon HG 11-14-2023 10:55 AM

Ok, might be gross for some of you, so spoilers below, but who's a nurse? Lol.

Spoiler!

Traum 11-14-2023 10:56 AM

Never been a Churches' fan. KFC all the way~ for both original recipe and extra spicy!

The $3.99 Tuesdays Specials are quite the scam nowadays though. When I had it last month, I think both the thigh and the drumstick pieces got smaller again, and they were already pretty tiny before.

Badhobz 11-14-2023 10:57 AM

How much smaller can they make them ? Friggin quail sized portions already.
I feel like picking some up to compare. I haven’t had KFC in years. Last time I had it was pre pandemic and the portions were alresdy bullshit.

whitev70r 11-14-2023 11:05 AM

KFC use to have a $2.99 2 piece on Tues, don't know if they still do. Worst $3 I ever spent.

I don't know about other themes, but for custom military sets the gold standard is Brickveteran, followed closely by Brickmania. They only use official LEGO pieces so their kits are very expensive. There are other sellers that steal others' designs, use no-name bricks, etc. so they will be a lot cheaper and you may run into quality issues.

"No weapons" but Star Wars, MCU, Indiana Jones (Nazis), etc. is ok! :troll:

I prefer it this way - leave it up to third parties to make realistic kits that would never pass LEGO's review.

I don't think they gave you the "special" and just charged you the regular price for a 3 piece meal. I still get it frequently comes to just under $13 or just over if you're swapping the drink for a gravy. Even at this price it's still expensive considering this shit was like $5 or $6 before. I self justify it by just seeing as I'm paying $13 for a full meal and comparing what the hell you'd get for a meal for $13 now. That and it's delicious lol

Badhobz 11-14-2023 12:45 PM

Mother fucking ah cha lo, that’s the last time I go to church’s on 41st and knight.
The chicken was delicious though.

What happens if you drain it then hold it down for a while so it doesn't get the opportunity for fluid to pool?

It takes a while for it to pool, so I'd probably to hold it down for a few hours at the very least - not too convenient at the moment since I'm working. But I'd imagine if I held it down, it'd just dribble out onto my tissue since there's nowhere else to go.

Right now I'm holding a tissue to it and it's like that.

i thought it went out the window with licensing?

star wars and marvel have figures with weapons and guns, or are you speaking specifically to actual real life modern weapons and machines of war?

I think they draw the line at "real life modern military/weapons".

So sci-fi and swords/hammers/bows & arrows is OK

donk. 11-14-2023 02:59 PM

My mouth is watering from the thought of KFC drumsticks + their hot sauce :sweetjesus:

Edit; my god, it's Tuesday, it's a sign. Brb clogging my arteries :sweetjesus:
