The FBI is investigating a vehicle explosion that killed 2 occupants at Rainbow Bridge on the US-Canadian border. Entry from Canada into the US. The Federal Bureau of Investigations Joint Terrorism Task Force is working with New York State Police to “monitor all points of entry to New York,” after a “situation that occurred at the Rainbow Bridge in Buffalo,” the Gov. Kathy Hochul said in a statement. CNN earlier reported the FBI described a “vehicle explosion,” and a fluid situation. Hochul said she is heading to Buffalo to meet with law enforcement and emergency responders Videos show the vehicle accelerated to a high speed, went airborne, hit a curb and landed in a security checkpoint area, sources tell CNN “This is obviously a very serious situation,“ Canadian Public Safety Minister Dominic LeBlanc told reporters Wednesday. Portions of three ports of entry between Canada and the US near Niagara Falls are closed according to the Niagara International Transportation Technology Coalition. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...337b72345a.jpg Domestic terrorism or something related to the Israel and Hamas conflict? Latest updates: Buffalo Niagara International Airport halts arriving and departing international flights From CNN's Pete Muntean The Buffalo Niagara International Airport has closed to both international arriving and departing flights, according to the US Federal Aviation Administration. The closure is listed for two days. Buffalo Niagara International Airport has up to 100 nonstop flights per day serving 31 airport destinations and beyond, its website says. 2 dead after blast at Rainbow Bridge, N.Y. governor says 'no sign of terrorist activity' https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/hamil...gara-1.7036398 |
Kinda want a Jewish deli smoked meat sandwich…. Hold the hamas. Eruhh humus |
It was not a terrorist attack. It was a 56-year-old male and his wife in a Bently with a full tank of gas. They where coming back from a casino. They hit the barrier at a high rate of speed. |
It was a Bentley? I thought it was a charger. Now that they identified him do they have any understanding of why he was going 200 in a 20 zone? |
Something like that happened here at Peace Arch ... 2x if I recall. One time a fast driver hit a van (with tanks of gas in the back) in the line and killed the driver. Still don't know what happened (was it medical, was it DUI?) years later. Another time, a speeding vehicle crashed at the border. |

Hahahhahaha the audio in the video. "Oh my god is he alright?" Like fucking of course not dude he just went 200 feet through the air and went from 150-0 in a millisecond and is in a fire that has already melted the car. |
Medical emergency? There was a case like that in Victoria a few years back of a dude in a truck doing crazy speed down the city street, eventually crashing into a building or pole and died. Off the hop, people were immediately calling him out for dangerous driving, being an idiot etc. Turns out he had a heart attack at the wheel, and just pinned the gas pedal. |
The fuck why does the media like to put out the word "terrorism" right off the jump with no actual information over something like this? You'd almost think they want us in a perpetual state of fear, notably to support and keep us prepped for all this bullshit happening in the Middle East. I thought we got past that after 9/11, apparently not. |

My guess is -- the US border services probably started off by saying something along the lines of: "We are not ruling out the possibility that this incident is terror-related" as part of their initial response. And that gets picked up by the media right away. Judging by pictures of the immediate aftermath, the situation certainly looks serious. There was a lot of smoke and quite a large area of fire, and debris from the explosion also spread out pretty far. And then when you add all that recent tension and hateful rhetoric stemming from the Israel - Gaza conflict, the authorities have legitimate reasons to be concerned and vigilant. And let's not forget -- lots of Jewish sites have received threats of different kinds lately. Multiple shootings even happened -- off the top of my head, I think I remember reading about 3 separate overnight shootings at Jewish schools overnight. Muslim communities have reported lots of hate-motivated / hate-related incidents as well, so everyone in those communities were already on edge. Personally, when I first saw the surveillance video showing the car sped and flew over the concrete block, that was the moment when I started feeling like it seemed less likely to be a terror-related incident. |

The CBC even wrote an article about this: https://www.cbc.ca/news/world/border...ting-1.7036978 |
It's because the modern culture just thrives on the idea of being victimized. How could this happen in my country?! No one's safe anymore! Everybody believes there is some crazy threat against them everyday everywhere because of the media. I bet in the last 10 years with the doomscrolling culture that fucking 95% of us have some level of diagnosable anxiety disorders when before that period it would have been 10%. |

And the most victimized of them all, the straight, white, wealthy conservative male. |
Goddamnit I can't stand the fact that PP will likely be the next PM. |
Yea cause things are amazing now lol PP becoming PM is the fault of everyone that supported Justin until they finally realized him and the rest of the liberals drove Canada to its lowest point, maybe ever. You reap what you sow. |

-was chatting with a co worker about the next federal election. That co worker said this "Twenty four hours is a long time in politics". The next election is in 2025? Many things can happen between now and 2025. I don't like PP boy either. My prediction is that if Turd really cares about his Libs standing a chance to form the next government after the next election, he will resign before the next election. Maybe we see a new face for the Liberals? Another coalition government between the Libs and the NDP? Another Liberal leader to kiss Jagmeet's ass so that the NDP support the Liberals to form a coalition government? |
