did anyone else do the S24 pre-order? can't believe my paper weight S7 Edge is worth $450 to Samsung lol. |
hmm $750 for the S22 base (not even the plus) 256GB a quick facebook search says my phone is worth $400 for a mint one hahaha. But still, thats $1200 to upgrade.... ($1,000 + tax) hmmmmmmmm |

When I got my s22 ultra, I traded in a phone with a broken screen. The trade in itself was worth zero, but they still gave the promo at the time for trading something in. |
I pre-ordered the S23 last year trading in my Note 8 and didn't have any issues. Granted my Note was barely used and looked new. I was slightly worried from reading all the comments on RFD, so I took a bunch of photos of my phone before sending it off. |
From the Samsung website, you could select whether your trade in was damaged or not. It also didn't seem to affect the trade in value? I could be wrong, had a friend help me sort all of this out since we both had S7 Edges to get rid of lol. I honestly wasn't even thinking about getting a new phone. I'm still quite happy with my S20 5G. But hey, if Samsung wants to take my garbage for that price, I'm in :lol |
I was at the Canucks game on Saturday and they announce that chef Stephen Yan is in attendance during the Lunar NY celebration and spotlight him. I go nuts cheering and whistling because he was the first chef I watched on tv as a youngster with my HK buddy Anthony who moved here in ‘89. I tell the story to my son and he’s been asking me about it since so I’ve been googling videos and fun facts. So while doing the aforementioned googling I learn that the chef I was actually watching was Martin Yan sooo… shit. Seems I’m not the only one to make the mistake though. Listen to Martin at the 9 minute mark: |
dude kills me when he says julienne julienne!!! |
Stephen Yan was the original! He gets brought up in this thread from time to time. I remember watching him a lot as a kid. I loved his puns and jokes |
stephen yan >>>>> martin yan |
Fun fact: Stephen Yan's daughter works for the Canucks so he's often at their games. |
I thought Wok with Yan was the OG and GOAT? 'Keep on talking like that and you will look like us!' |
Yan and Emeril are the two pioneers for cooking shows, I remember being a kid watching them with my parents in the early 90's |
Recently started watching iron chef re-runs on YouTube lol 90’s were a glorious time for TV lol |
Iron chef (the OG, poor translated and dubbed Japanese one) was the cooking show I really liked. That dude biting into a pepper makes me laugh every time. |
Can't forget about Paul this guy was awesome |
He still slaps all these years later :lol The intros and like the side stories before the cooking along with the dubs are hilarious. One of the first episodes of the first season is some Chinese cuisine chef who’s from a hotel in Japan and there are like 10 jokes in the intro about how fat the guy is before they even start cooking lol |
