did anyone else do the S24 pre-order? can't believe of paper weight S7 Edge is worth $450 to Samsung lol.
There's a few threads on RFD of people sharing their horrible time with the 3rd party company that manages the trade ins. The $450 trade in bonus is apparently subject to trade in assessments and people have been scammed out of value because the 3rd party company claims things were broken when they weren't. I don't know if anyone answering "no" to all the trade in questions have also been ripped off.
When I got my s22 ultra, I traded in a phone with a broken screen. The trade in itself was worth zero, but they still gave the promo at the time for trading something in.
From the Samsung website, you could select whether your trade in was damaged or not. It also didn't seem to affect the trade in value? I could be wrong, had a friend help me sort all of this out since we both had S7 Edges to get rid of lol. I honestly wasn't even thinking about getting a new phone. I'm still quite happy with my S20 5G. But hey, if Samsung wants to take my garbage for that price, I'm in
I was at the Canucks game on Saturday and they announce that chef Stephen Yan is in attendance during the Lunar NY celebration and spotlight him. I go nuts cheering and whistling because he was the first chef I watched on tv as a youngster with my HK buddy Anthony who moved here in ‘89. I tell the story to my son and he’s been asking me about it since so I’ve been googling videos and fun facts.
So while doing the aforementioned googling I learn that the chef I was actually watching was Martin Yan sooo… shit. Seems I’m not the only one to make the mistake though. Listen to Martin at the 9 minute mark:
Iron chef (the OG, poor translated and dubbed Japanese one) was the cooking show I really liked. That dude biting into a pepper makes me laugh every time.
The intros and like the side stories before the cooking along with the dubs are hilarious. One of the first episodes of the first season is some Chinese cuisine chef who’s from a hotel in Japan and there are like 10 jokes in the intro about how fat the guy is before they even start cooking lol
