Don't camp in villages in any of these types of places, shit you can run into these types of issues camping on beaches in many of these countries.

P.s. its probably because the injectors failed and the engine stopped. All the steamship lines had to convert to this new ultra low sulfur bio diesel and the older engines do not run well with that stuff. I talked to a lot of captains who have had glitches, stalls, engine problems with this stuff.
