no requirements for tugs where she was at "Ships are not required to have tugboat escorts when passing under the Francis Scott Key Bridge so they have limited ability to slow down on their own when they lose power and can not put the propeller into reverse." Guarantee that shit's going to change now. If anyone got a few mill laying around to buy a fleet of tugs and get rich. Im pretty sure all major movements near metropolitian areas or bridges will be mandated to require escort tugs in the USA after this kinda bullshit. As for vancouver any larger vessels over 250m LOA or what we considered a tier 1 vessel needs tugs when approaching first narrows (lions gate bridge) |
^ so in layman terms ... are cruise ships guided too? |
if shes big enough yes. anything over 250m LOA (length overall) |
Who would be held liable for rebuilding the bridge? Is the shipping company liable to lawsuits and repairs? Biden came out saying the Feds would pay for the new bridge, I would've figured it would be on the insurers? |
More overpass strikes https://www.cbc.ca/amp/1.7156675 |
I'd assume they don't want to deal with the delays from an insurance company messing around when it comes to fixing a piece of infrastructure that large. Just get it fixed and go after them for the bill after. |
Blows my mind they havent installed a "dummy" strike plate 1km ahead of these overpasses |
The TV show Curb Your Enthusiasm saved a guy from death row. The American courts are fucked. |
I bought an OLED Nintendo switch. Does anyone know who does mod chip installations locally ? I read you can install a mod chip and then home brew / jailbreak it. |
i saw on youtube Mig Switch is a card that you can pop in and run games, ala the old DS ROM cards. |

This guy did mine and my brother's. Great dude. Turnaround is about 1-2 weeks depending on his schedule. It's a side gig for him. He'll ask if you want the software set up, but I'd skip it since there's tons of guides to do it yourself to save money. You'll have to acknowledge a waiver that he's not at fault if anything goes wrong. Installing the modchip on a Switch requires microsoldering, so it's a lot harder than normal soldering. |
Thanks guy ! This is perfect. Exactly the kind of bloke I’m looking for. |
BTW, you can't go online with downloaded games unless you want to get your device banned. Most people will play their legitimate games on the original firmware (called the sysnand) and play their homebrews and downloaded games on the hacked firmware (called the emunand). The hacked firmware is called the emunand because it's stored on your microSD card and emulated. You can choose which firmware to boot into when you start up your Switch. I did it this way for over a year before I sold my Switch and it was never banned. |
how is this not on the nintendo thread :lol |

I hope he bought it at Costco. |
of course i bought it at costco! the costco guy even reminded me that i can return the unit at anytime HINT HINT when switch 2 comes out... the games are kinda fun.. i went on the "great savings" part of their estore and its full of hentai games. So i bought like 10 hentai games for like 20 dollars and now pissing off the wife with these hentai girls playing mahjong and shit |
That’s a great idea buying from Costco to mod it. I still have my release switch so was always scared to mod it at risk of bricking it with no recourse lol. |
If you have a release switch, it's even easier since there's a built-in exploit. You just need an RCM jig and a way to send a payload over the USB port (computer or Android device works). Pretty hard to brick a Switch from experience. Just follow this guide for your unpatched switch. https://rentry.org/EristaEmuNAND |

He got eternal life though didn't he? Eternal life isn't good? |
