A $400 Crappy Tire bike is nowhere close to being the same as even just a $2k bike though? The $400 CT special will be heavy, numb, and rides like a wad of wet noodles. Certainly you must know that?

With weight, in particular, it should be pretty obvious even to a novice rider. The frame stiffness and responsiveness bits are at least more subtle.

Same goes for biking. A 400$ canadian tire special will serve you for 20 years, account for 300$ in parts every few years and your good to go.
If your really into it, a used 1500$ bike and your good to go.
Those that spend 8k on a carbon bike are the definition of enthusiasts, and the 8k is well worth it.

As an aside, the old man in me often reminds me of how running is bad for my ankles, knees, and hips, esp my knees. No amount of high dollar shoes will be able to save me from that. :(

Dats why best bike is e bike. I ride one to the gym everyday and it takes zero effort.

Downside is no phone support line, absolute garbage self serve system, and if you need help you need to make a second forum account, then wait for some "mod" to help you.

Its no frills, but absolute garbage when you need to add US data or whatever for a weekend get away.

Also those of you that love saving 40$ on your 8000$ tax bill, public mobile offers 1$ for every friend referral.
Get 34 friends signed up = free 50gb plan for life.

Hopefully I dont run into any issues out of the ordinary, the plans they currently offer already have US data included. This plan is getting comped by work, so if I can get US data out of it for free, I can pair it with my paid Fido plan and don't have to worry about roaming fees anymore.

I don't play with CEOs and politicians at fucking Langara golf course LOL, especially not when it used to cost $40 for 5 hours of play. And I started with an old set of hand-me-down clubs some of which I still use to this day. The basic outlay back in the day was like a couple hundred bucks to buy a decent driver that wasn't made of wood anymore like 68style's clubs :lol

Well of course not at langara ! Heavens forbid.

The snobby fuckers are those that go to those private clubs that are invite only.

Anyone a part of royal Vancouver yacht club here ?! You want elitism.. try that club of douchebags. I got a free membership I think through the shipping federation and I still refuse to go to any of their events.

What do you guys use to get splattered bugs off your cars? We hit some juicy ones on the Coq this week.

For regular bugs from driving on the highway, I just use a microfiber and spray some ONR diluted to 16:1.

bcrdukes 07-06-2024 07:23 AM

I just bought some Seafoam Bug Off. I'll try it out tonight and let you know if it works. :lol

EvoFire 07-06-2024 08:46 AM

I just power wash it off lol

Badhobz 07-06-2024 09:28 AM

I use Adam’s graphene detailer spray. If I don’t have it I’ll just use baby wipes to at least get most it off or worse case scenario just get a Chinese old lady to spit on it.

spoon.ek9 07-06-2024 01:31 PM

Badhobz 07-06-2024 02:16 PM

She stepped out from that Neptune Chinese restaurant and started spitting. Dim sum no goooddddd I guess ?

Either way when our women turn into old ladies they are brutal. You think white karens have an attitude problem ? Chinese old ladies don’t give a fuck about anything.

I can’t wait for spy balloon to hit menopause and starting fights at foodie world

EvoFire 07-06-2024 06:54 PM

Household ammonia in a spray bottle. Leave it for a minute then remove

Tire soap does the same trick. One time, this lesbo brought her old white impreza in, covered in moss, so we washed it with tire soap :lol

bcrdukes 07-07-2024 05:50 AM

Update on the Seafoam Bugs Be Gone.

It's essentially a very concentrated soap. You spray it on, let it soak for a minute to a minute and a half, spray if off with a hose, and wipe it off. It worked, but the stubborn bugs stuck on will require some extra effort. I'll need to clay bar and detail my car given all the dirt and grime stuck on it.

Usually months cause I barely drive, but it's only when I drive the Coq/Connector that I have to deal with bugs and half of them have been baking on there for a few days before I maoe the return trip. There were lots of big ones, the kind you can actually hear hitting the windshield and leave massive smears of guts.

This time I was able to get on it right away so a pressure washer + microfiber with lots of soap got most of the goo off.

spoon.ek9 07-07-2024 10:25 AM

i just claybarred and waxed the gf's car the other day in 29C weather lol (yes, she helped out). turned out great though of course and well worth the effort.
