I agree with this. Esp given how ICBC already has an exemption process for this, why would you not take advantage of it?

As something else to consider, BC actually has a much lower personal income tax rate than Manitoba. So if she plans on having any income at all -- I think it'd be wiser to defer the tution tax credits until she finishes school and starts working full time -- it'd make more sense for her to become a BC resident instead of keeping her MB residency status -- ie. going through the process of getting BC MSP, BC DL, etc.

AFAIK, BC's healthcare coverage is also better than MB. (Although she will continue to be covered by MB despite being in BC if she so chooses.) So that's something else for her to take into account as well.

This.

The worst part is the guy lives in (of all places) Brampton, which has the highest case of insurance rates and accidents in all of Canada.

How he's managed to get away scoff free w/o any accidents is beyond me. (He is aware of the risks.)

bcrdukes 07-15-2024 10:01 AM

Because his name is also Mike and he is a Black guy originally from Seattle. (Not joking.)

I get what you mean though. :D

No real killer deals. As for door bell I got a ring a few years ago during prime day and it has been fine so far. Though one really weird thing I've noticed is while I generally have never had issues with the doorbell detecting somebody come to the door in every single instance that Big Brothers has come to my door to grab donations it has never once triggered an alert. This has happened 4 times now, it's odd but that aside I'd say it has detected others 99% of the time.

Badhobz 07-16-2024 11:37 AM

So that nest door thingy has a cool feature where it alerts your phone with people who come by. You can give "frequent" visitors names

I renamed her friend "cunt bag" so now Cunt Bag is at the front door pops up on my notification list all the time.

Siri even reminds me, CUNTBAG is here!

bcrdukes 07-16-2024 07:45 PM

It was pretty bad at our office today in Brampton. I dodged a bullet today by deciding I would work from home.

One guy we work with JUST bought a new car the other week and his car was COMPLETELY flooded in. :lol

Badhobz 07-16-2024 07:47 PM

Dukes did you try and call uber eats delivery? if they don't make it in time, they will give you a free meal next time or a significant coupon!

i don't blame them; when i was stuck, many were running low on gas; some ran and abandon ship. Some just peaced out and ran up.
