^all hk flights are pricey now.

hk ratland is good. locals care more about taking pics for IG than going on rides honestly.

Aside from Red Lobster, which was a horrible mistake, every other food establishment we went to were small family owned resturants or (the only) diner in town. The portions were HUGE and even when taking exchange rate into consideration, it's still cheaper than local options. (ie. US $4.95/taco) Shockingly, again aside from Red Lobster (good thing they're going out of business), all the small town food was delicious and all Mexican food LOL. This is a stark contrast from the small town food I've tried in the Okanagan/Kootneys.

I agree that Seattle isn't worth it, but exploring WA/OR state is easily one of the best road trip experiences I've had.

Some shitty ridiculously overpriced dim sum in a ridiculously overpriced part of town does not represent the average LUL

Badhobz 07-31-2024 05:01 PM

Sorry my wife’s family is from around that area so I’m kinda stuck in that mentality. I tried to go to a dai pai dong and my spy ballooon was literally gagging and throwing up in her mouth. Stupid elitist balloon !!!! I’d pop her god damn shit if she wasnt so small and cute.

Lousy balloon

Got damn... I couldn't justify that. I feel like my stock portfolio would have to be at least $1M to justify that cost, so I still have a ways to go.

Yes we booked 3 business class tickets to HK for October and it was 18k almost 19k!! Stupid air Canada is nuts.

Gerbs 07-31-2024 05:30 PM

I flew via points, kinda wish I didn't know how good the business class long-haul long haul was.

It was almost $6K one-way, 55,000 aeroplan. Fortunately got 400K points left.

Badhobz 07-31-2024 06:44 PM

Yes once you’ve flown business in long haul you can’t go back to scum class.

Although I’m getting a Chinese heart attack thinking about the price.

If I do, I'd be letting Skunkworks win.

Good enough for my lifestyle, but probably not good enough to enter the competitive job market or whatever (and reading is mostly limited to menu items lol)

Badhobz 07-31-2024 11:13 PM

Just say dui a lot. I’m sure that’s the ticket.

My wife told me one of the oldest Michelin rated dim sum places closed down. We were suppose to go last year. We got a table but it was a shared table and then she gagged in her mouth and had to leave after seeing how disgusting the tea was…. Now I didn’t get to try it.

It’s that place upstairs close to dong ping gai… white building… uhh there’s a ding ding station right infront of it.

=========

I was gonna ask you hongers if there is anything like a “car street” where I can get auto parts and accessories. Kinda like ladies market or bird market but for cars related crap.

Diu, it's "diu", not "dui". :lawl:

whitev70r 08-01-2024 05:53 AM

Unless dui is the version with Shanghainese accent?

And the other phrase ... 'your mother' ...

whitev70r 08-01-2024 06:00 AM

Saw this coming from a mile. I mean the kind of loss just by the airline industry just on that one day, the refunds that they have to compensate ... not to mention healthcare and other sectors.

Badhobz 08-01-2024 06:19 AM

lousy cantonese! your shit is like next to impossible to get right

god help you if you have a "shan" accent, like taishan, foshan, or some other country fucking shan shit. those mean ass hongers will rip you apart.

oh story time!: so on the boat, I met this older nammer couple and they were like WOW are you from Hongkong? you got mannerisms of a guy from HK..... my mom was like FUCK YOU, you're dead to me now. she was genuinely disappointed that I lost all my shanghainesey-ness... i guess I wasn't cunty enough or bourgie enough for her liking.

Crowdstrike is down over 40% since Jim Cramer pumped their stock.

I don't understand this, if you are a shareholder, why would you sue yourself to push the price even lower?

Shit happens, Amazon took AWS down a few years ago for half a day and no one seemed to have sued them.

whitev70r 08-01-2024 07:27 AM

^ maybe to get rid of incompetent CEO?

But I assume other lawsuits will follow to give corporate lawyers more work.
