Is there a better all-around every person car than the new Civic Hybrid? 0-60 in 6.2s, 47mpg on the highway, plenty of room for 4, easy to drive, good build quality, nice interior etc etc.
If a non-car person asked me what car to get the Civic hybrid would be top 2 (the CX-5 would be the other one) on my list.

Haha a guy at the bank parking lot earlier today approached me about my 128i interested in buying my car. Was about to leave the note until I came out the door.
Apparently he has one very similar spec on manual but ICBC wrote it off. Asked his budget he said $15k, not bad lol. But nothing I wanna buy at the moment to replace it.

It was built in USA and the build quality was kinda shitty, the AC leaked out the freon twice, the road noise was LOUD (common honda complaint) and the CVT drone was annoying.
I'd stick with toyota for hybrids still.

Mazda’s history dates to a time well before it was a sporty luxury-ish brand that sells premium cars at mainstream prices. From 1920, it was a brand that made corks, and in 1931 it began to make its first vehicle—a motorized trike truck called the Mazda-Go. Its history with actual cars only began on October 10, 1960, but Mazda would expand from its humble beginnings to become a car company best described as the brand for people who want a fun, driver-focused vehicle without going to a Porsche dealer. Sure, its sedans and hatchbacks have been fun to drive, but we can all admit where Mazda’s spiritual center sits: Its iconic coupes, convertibles, and sports cars. Here are the 10 sports cars that put Mazda on the map.
| Getting a hard on just looking at all these Mazdas especially the Eunos Cosmo, the FD, and the last RX-8.

The crane that fell from the fire on Dunbar ... apparently, they can't move it for 2 weeks. Does anyone know a good reason? Sounds inefficient to me. Every city worker on summer holiday or something? https://vancouver.citynews.ca/video/...ast-two-weeks/ |

Well... they weigh anywhere between 100-400 tonnes depending on spec............ you can't just pick it up and move it.
It needs to be disassembled and there are a lot of inherent safety concerns the way it's positioned with that process as well.

So outside of coordinating all of that, they probably have to cut it into pieces and coordinate another crane to pick it up and haul it out. I’m sure the physical work if nothing else would probably take a week or more

There's no way that fire wasn't vandalism. That development was smack dab in the middle of the most nibby parts of Vancouver.

It’s kinda interesting the tables have turned. You had bellingham locals hating Canadians for clogging up costco and trader joes but now if you go to richmond costco, lansdowne T&T there are a lot of Washington plate cars.

Is anyone familiar with dating culture with mainlanders?
Just caught up with my cousin (male) who is dating a mainlander in Vancouver. He told me that he literally pays for everything when they go out. They've been going out for like eight months now and she has never paid for anything.
He even brought up how it would be nice if she bought dinner once in awhile or picked up a bubble tea bill, but she pretty much said, F*ck that. That's not how things work.
I don't have any friends who are mainlanders, but is this normal cultural behavior with mainlanders? My cousin is Chinese (Hong Kong), but he was born here. His girlfriend was born in China, but works here. Not sure if this matters, but she makes under $100k, he makes about $130k.
The other question I have is if they get married, is this still the norm? Or do all bank accounts become one?
I'm genuinely curious. There is no chance I would date a girl like that, but I can also somewhat understand if this is a cultural thing in China. I just don't know. I already told him to find someone else, but that's fallen on deaf ears.
Does anyone have experience?

Totally normal. Learning of this, you may often suffer from a stroke or heart attack. RIP, PeanutButter.

Does anyone have experience? | LAWL!
First of all, define mainlander. Its a vast country, where she from? Big City bitch? small countryside peon? some butt fuck weeeeegurrrr whos trying to establish their own Muslim kabal in chinar?! WHO!?
If shes a big city bitch: yes this is normal. Typical attitude from entitled women as they are all product of 1 child policy and thus doted on from birth. Dont forget the ratio of men to women are highly fucked in china and thus if you are a good looking bitch, you will literally have like 200 dudes trying to bone your ass. times that by 10 if you're really good looking.
if shes a countryside hoe: she wouldnt have this kind of expectation, but then again she wouldn't be in Canada unless she's rich. Rich ones are basically the same as the city mainlander women. Even this whole countryside thing has various levels of "farmer-ness" but i guess it wouldn't really apply here
If shes an immigrant: usually comes from money, unless they came in the 90's (if they came in the 90's you wouldnt have this problem). Probably brainwashed by the chinese dating system where the guy pays for everything.
Suffice to say your guangdong cousin is fucked. Interestingly, if shes not a complete gold digging hoe, when they do get married and shit out a kid, she will tiger wife the finances and then all his money will become her money and then there will be no expectations of him "paying" for anything because she already owns everything he's got.
Does he like to listen mandarin's yarrr yarr yarr? ni haorrrr marrrr? well get used to that shit cuz that's COUNTRY LANGUAGE GUOYU good luck trying to speak cantonese in that household unless shes also a guangdong bastard. All her friends will be mainlanders too and that shit is rough... install wechat now and littleRedBook. You better brush up on squatting in public and cutting people off while walking.

PeanutButter - Does your cousin like this girl? Or are you hoping for some kind of divine intervention or Romeo and Juliet-type of scenario to tear them apart?
If he likes her, then, what are you gonna do? Unless he gives you proceeds of his income to you on a monthly basis, then I can't see why you're invested into who he dates. You bastard!
