“We get placed under this no-fault legislation, which essentially means that there is no accountability for this accident,” Moy said. “And with that, we had to sit with an ICBC claims adjuster. They look up my mother’s ‘life’s worth’ on a graph on a table, and because she is a homemaker with no financial trappings, no big CEO title to her name, it is then calculated out at a very nominal cost. |
Someone told me with no fault insurance if your teenage kid gets hit by a bus their life is worth $75k. Cause there is no way to prove what kind of future earnings. |

I don't think I'd ever drive fast with new people I met in the car. It'd make people car sick or think I'm a dbag. |
Anyone know a cheap place to get a 2018 Honda Civic alternator replaced/rebuilt. Swapped the battery in my mom's car with a Costco special since the car was having troubles starting (multimeter read 10v). The new battery is reading 12.4v regardless if the car is off or on. |
Where are you located? Edit: My go-to has always been Brighouse Starters and Alternators Fast turnaround and reasonable price. Disclaimer: I have not used them in over a decade, so shop around. Call them or drop by in person. Others will recommend Edmond's Alternator and Starters but I personally have never used them. Let us know how it goes! |

Willingdon is pretty bad from top to bottom. Burnaby's street grid is terrible - it's hard to go north-south and not great east west if you're not in North Burnaby. |
I fucking hate Canada way from the highway to Edmonds. Also Clark/knight from say first to 41st, uhg |
Anyone know have some recommendations for places to cut new key fobs in this case for a 2010 Acura. Both my wife's are getting sketchy from wear and tear and dropping them over the years and Acura quoted something like $500 for 1 fob lol there has to be better options out there. |

City decides lets make Dawson and Lougheed one lane roads in basically the same spot parallel on both roads. They've now also done that on Lougheed near Sperling, because...reasons? If you're heading East on Lougheed anywhere around 3PM, get ready to sit behind 20+ mins of lights just to get up to Bainbridge. It's a fucking shit show. |
I just turn into Brentwood Shopping Centre on Halifax. Go straight through to Gilmore or keep going to 1st Ave. 1st Ave. sucks, so I turn onto Boundary then Broadway. Coming back, same thing. It’s a bit of a cluster fuck, but sometimes I take same route and turn at Gilmore up to Parker. There are many shortcuts. Sometimes going still Creek from Boundary Rd where Dick’s Lumber is saves time. If train is coming or going, Willingdon Overpass from Costco. |

Ugh roads are getting worse by the day. They should not be even thinking about reducing travel lanes until they actually give people alternative mass transit and seeing the result of that. Give us more trains/light rail rapid transit. And freight train level crossings should not exist on main thoroughfares anymore. Passenger trains ok cuz it's just a few seconds of waiting. Right now they are just causing grief amongst motorists in hopes we would ditch our cars. Which we would IF there was a feasible alternative. Probably they think i can bike from Vancouver East to Richmond before and after a 12hr graveyard shift. There are some of my own special "HOV" i take via side streets but soon those will be jammed up too |
Just this past Sunday, me and my family were in Marpole for lunch, after which we tried going to Richmond (Costco). Granville leading down to Arthur Liang was massively backed up for reasons we never found out. Wanting to take W70th to get back to Oak, and there was major construction happening around Oak and W70th. I snaked through the side streets trying to get myself to Marine to get back on Arthur Liang, and there was construction along a long stretch of Marine, with cars backed up pretty much all the way from Arthur Liang to just west of Cambie. At that point, I said "fxxk it" and we headed home on Marine. Passing by Knight Bridge, the on-ramp to Knight had a line up of cars stretching past the Indian temple. Access to all 3 bridges were clogged. Gotta say it was my first time ever seeing that. FailFish |
^ yah, massive road work on Oak, people been talking about that lately, around 70th. Probably upgrading the water mains for all those new low rise builds? Arthur Laing is always congested as many lanes squeeze into 2 on the bridge, people going shopping at McArthur Glen. Whoever decided to put an outlet mall in the same route as going to the airport, I'll never know. And Knight street is getting congested prob because of the above reasons but it is always congested. Going northbound, starts at like 2:30 pm. It's becoming like North shore busy. I always try to get on Knight street going NB at the latest possible exit which means bridgeport but you gotta hit it from the north entry of Bridgeport, not the south. When will hover vehicles from the Jetson's be available? |
Highway 99 northbound is pretty regularly backed up from Westminster Highway during rush hour in the morning due to the construction. |
All times are GMT -8. The time now is 07:08 AM. | |
