How'd it go? Also, they're not copying Apple's instructions, they are Apple's instructions.

Keep your pSIM handy around for the next 3 months. You can always swap back to the pSIM if needed via your Mobility online account. Past 90 days, the SIM's dead.

Going to do it later today on a new phone, didn’t want to swap it over to e-sim before and having to deal with that, will report back

For those with a newer phone that can support e-sims, seems like a good move to migrate your physical sim to an e-sim given that if the phone is lost or stolen it cannot be removed then, so in theory it can broadcast its location etc. going forward with a cellular connection

iPhone is pretty crazy you basically just place new phone beside old and it will sync up everything. Put a brand new out of the box phone next to old phone and it automatically turned the physical sim in old phone to new E-sim on the new phone without any interaction with Telus other than verifying the carrier. Pretty impressive

Devices have never needed to talk with the carrier side for set up, save for the network protocol programming needed to use the carrier.

We've come a long way from iPhones needing a Mac/PC and iTunes to activate. Lots of clients still blame the carrier when they don't have their appleID passwords though.

This is the same with a Samsung. A few years ago, I upgraded from a S8 to a S20 FE and it was like a lifechanging process - seamless. All your apps and logins all get sync'd up.

Gone are the days where you spend hours setting up everything again.

Yeah getting a new phone is boring now

falk i'm old school, i still want physical sim.

I still put in dual sim cards for work and personal phone and being abl eto take out sim makes it easier and ensure i ain't roaming. (or ensure my mom and dad ain't roaming)

Samsung has been able to swap everything over for you since at least the S7, it's pretty convenient

4am this morning my wife was like "uh we should grab our stuff".

"Huh?"

"Yeah, the baby's coming early. Let's go!"

Hour and a half later, we had our 2nd baby :).

Does anyone know the going rate/fee for executor of a will with either a lawyer or a trust company? Do they have fees or a % of the estate?

Congrats!

Did baby #2 came out a lot faster than the first one?

dark0821 11-04-2024 12:42 PM

In our experience yes.

1st baby was like 20 hour ordeal

2nd baby by the time i got the call, raced to BC Womens from Market Crossing (work), baby was born already... so it was like a 30min ordeal lolol

Congratz sir! Now the kids have someone to depend on for the rest of their life!

Mikoyan 11-04-2024 12:48 PM

I think I prefer this over the days where once you swapped the sim, you had to do 30 different things to “backup” the phone lol

Let alone those more recent times dealing with that nightmare that was the iTunes backup..

Badhobz 11-04-2024 01:10 PM

Grats Mr rat !!! Is it a boy or girl ?

Also I’ll just leave this here

Oh I definitely prefer it now.. but it's boring! Before when you'd get a new phone, it might have a totally different UI, phones would have some different features that might actually matter, stuff like that.

Now they're all pretty much the same, some just have more expensive parts like the camera or screen and of course the CPU inside.

I've been using smartphones since before the iphone existed, so I've gone through a ton of them over the decades. God I'm old.

Hondaracer 11-04-2024 01:18 PM

Yea I remarked that the other day that it was kind of nice when everyone had a different phone. So many weird and rare models. Thought I was such a baller with that Motorola V60.

I’ve been iPhone since the 3 now, as have my work phones. So never really even touched another UI in almost 20 years

whitev70r 11-04-2024 02:29 PM

Badhobz ... what's the inside scoop? Can you save us from the Port lock out.

Other people's Aliexpress things are at stake here.
