i havent had a desktop in ages. i've been using a 12" surface and 14" laptop for over a decade at home, so it should be quite nice. at work i use dual 24" monitors but i just want a more minimal setup at home.

Yes, Windows got worse because...

1) It can no longer bootcamp into windows, have to rely on virtualization
2) Runs ARM version of windows, need to make sure all ur apps support that OR run well enough on emulation

Personally, I use my M1 Pro on parallels; with 6 GPU/12G ram TEams will max it out. I only use Windows to use the work auth to remote into my work devbox/desktop PC

unit 11-15-2024 11:45 AM

yeah i guess i could just remote in if i have to as well

So far the full time Mac usage has been fine. I did an entire work day (it’s 1pm right now) with teams playing / excel and outlook running side by side. Seems to be pretty damn efficient.

No complaints other than I had to change the copy and paste command to simulate windows and disable some of apples lame ass innovation like natural scrolling which is a total abomination.

Hondaracer 11-15-2024 12:22 PM

My MacBook Air was never the same after installing boot camp

Ever after completely reformatting the whole computer it always had a lingering windows hiccup to it after that lol

I use both Macs & PC. I have love & hate with both. That said, Finder will always be better than Explorer...

Speaking of computer rooms, I've been slowly working on the one at my home:

Still a work in progress since I strive for that ideal setup. Won't be cheap by the time I'm done but will be worth it

OMG the triforce!

Legend of GS8, a GS8 to the past.

Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson at 8:15pm (PST)

How do you guys think the match will turn out?

The odds are in Jake Paul's favour @ 1.56 vs Tyson's 2.80 at PlayNow. I was really expecting Tyson's odds to be much lower.

Mike's final sparring video before the fight:

Gotta say he is not looking all that good to me. There is no telling how long he has been training here, but he looks like he has run out of stamina in the video. And he looks more top heavy than what I remember in his last fight as well, so that can't be good.

underscore 11-15-2024 04:55 PM

How would you guys go about flushing brake fluid out of a caliper? This is probably a dumb idea but I'm trying to buy some calipers and fly back with them but I'll need to have the fluid cleared out so they don't make a mess.

ssjGoku69 11-15-2024 05:29 PM

can you spray compressed air into the hole?

Hondaracer 11-15-2024 05:31 PM

Open the valves and clamp the pistons shut?

Manic! 11-15-2024 06:58 PM

Netflix is being hammered. Getting like 240p watching the fights.

68style 11-15-2024 07:04 PM

Yah it’s totally unwatchable, buffering every 10 seconds

I knew in my heart they’d fuck this up

Mikoyan 11-15-2024 07:10 PM

Watching on an ipad with no issues.

If I buy a can of it I probably can, my other idea was brake clean but then I have to figure out how to air them out lol.

Anyone who didn't watch the fight.

The easiest $20M and $40M anyone has ever made.

MarkyMark 11-15-2024 08:56 PM

I hope that puts an end to these kind of fights but I doubt it. At least Mike didn't get KO'd

68style 11-15-2024 09:15 PM

That was sad, boo’ing was justified, they all but admitted it was scripted in the post “fight” banter…

The previous 2 fights were very entertaining though.

Hondaracer 11-15-2024 09:36 PM

lol like people complain about corruption in govt?

The Paul brothers probably became billionaires after tonight

SkinnyPupp 11-15-2024 09:44 PM

2 of the undercard fights were very good, making it mostly worthwhile to watch. I heard a lot of people had issues with the streaming, but it was mostly good for me. A couple hiccups throughout 4 hours was fine. My wife was watching Netflix in another room too, so we really tested it lol

I don't know where the accusations of corruption stem from... Anyone with any sense knew this is exactly how it would go. Jake Paul has had this exact fight about a million times. If people keep paying, then he should keep doing it!

Mike made like $25 million, most of which probably goes to pay back debts he owes. Good for him too, for doing it at 58 with a bum knee and not dying.

Of course the highlight was Tyson being half naked for the backstage interview LUL

Hondaracer 11-15-2024 09:46 PM

Portnoy said this was the lock of the century fuck easy to say afterward but it was obvious. After the 5th round Paul could have KO’ed Tyson easily. Scripted BS even if I had nothing on the line

SkinnyPupp 11-15-2024 09:48 PM

If Tyson had a 1% chance of winning, that would ONLY apply if Paul tried to finish him

Plus he already won. You can't "extra win" for knocking them out, even if it would be appealing to the more bloodthirsty, basic minded fans.
