It's just the USD that's strong. Canadian Dollar VS other major currencies for the most part are trading around the same range for the past few years.

I just looked we're at normal levels for EUR/CAD ~1.45ish. I've gone to Europe at 1.6 years ago and it sucked. 1.25 a couple years ago was awesome.

Even GBP/CAD is around ~1.75. First and only time I visited the UK it was 2 to 1 which really sucked.

We're kicking ass against Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Korea. I think that pretty much covers 90% of the developed world.

What's shocking to me personally is SGD/CAD is now 1.03. If you had told me that the Singapore dollar would be worth more than the Canadian dollar 20 years ago I'd have told you were delusional.

I looked into taking VIA rail to Edmonton on a sleeper car and it was relatively affordable. 1300 bucks for two people with meals included.

Seems like a fun little trip for me and spy balloon to take over the holidays.
It’ll take 1.5 days of travel to reach Edmonton but I think that’s perfect amount of time to enjoy the sceneries in the Rockies.

After arriving back in my home town I’ll show her where I grew up, where I fought my first whitey, and where JR LA ROSE stole my fucking toys !!!! Yes I was in the same class as that CFL guy.

Then eat at the lingnan cuz why not (I look like that miles guy) and go shopping at west Edmonton mall.

Should be a fun little trip

I ate at lingnan on one of my YEG trips cause it’s Canadas oldest westernized chinese restaurant or something but I thought it was so-so. The american chain panda express which is also in edmonton tastes better to me lol

Also downtown edmonton is starting to rival the DTES so be careful

What type of class does $1300 get you? I’ve watched quite a few YouTubers do this trip or a portion of it and it seems like there’s 3-4 different classes and 2-3 different sleeper arrangements
