just got back from Point Roberts gas trip.. VPower 92 octane is $1.26:fullofwin: cheaper then reg 87 octance here..

Thats expensive... I buy 92 in Sumas for usually close to $1/L.

Its 4.15 right now in Sumas as it went up a bit, so;

4.15 x .264 = $1.09/L

:fullofwin:

is this even legal for the RCMP to do?

Quote:

RCMP in Langley say they have effectively shut down a house party that was set to go ahead in the Fraser Valley community this weekend.

The party was being advertised on Facebook and had 1,000 potential guests.

Police say attendees will find numerous roadblocks and traffic checks instead.

RCMP investigators have been in contact with those believed responsible for the Facebook invitation and now believe it may have been a hoax.

The author has since removed the invitation.

Langley RCMP say they will deploy additional police and volunteer resources as a precaution to ensure public safety.

Abbotsford and Transit police have also been made aware of the potential for a large gathering.

Information is also being shared with police agencies in the Lower Mainland.

Mounties shut down Langley FB party - BC News - Castanet.net
can the RCMP actually stop a gathering discussed on facebook before it even happens? 1100 'confirmed' guests is irrelevant

they can shut down a party that is out of control or causing a disturbance, but can they stop one before it even starts? unless the party was by under agers for under agers maybe...

murd0c 08-22-2012 08:04 PM

Even if it's not legal I think its a good idea. The last thing anyone ever wants to happen is a party get out of control. That being said I saw that movie project x and man do I ever want to toss a party like that one!!

Hondaracer 08-22-2012 08:21 PM

Back in high school a guy we knew had a house party in a house that's probably 5500 sq feet in Fraser heights with a big back yard with a pool in a cul de sac, by the end of the night the house was
Filled shoulder to shoulder and I was thinking "holy fuck there's alot of people here"

Then I walked out front and a 5 house cul de sac was shoulder to shoulder like a night club as well, I'd say minimum there were 500 people there? And to think the whole party started basically at 6pm that night when the owner of the house said call people and lets have a party lol

RRxtar 08-22-2012 08:37 PM

back in highschool (before everyone, anyone?, had cellphones and FB) a girl i knew had a pager and she would update the pager voice mail msg leading up to the weekend and during the weekend as to where the parties were and who was at them. was a wicked idea. except if you were having a party you prayed to god it didnt end up on there. one time my buddy ended up with at least 500 people at his small gathering. lol. only damage was someone stole his costco sized box of eggo waffles out of the freezer that his parents bought for him while they were away lol.

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) - A person sipping a latte in Yaletown spotted a bunch of people dressed like Bloods gang members from South Central LA on Tuesday.

When Transit Police caught up with them at Langara Station a short while later, they found out the group weren't gangsters at all.

Anne Drennan with Transit Police says they sure looked the part, though.

"There were ten young men dressed in gangster attire, complete with red bandanas and fake tattoos," Drennan says. "One of the young men was openly displaying a handgun and then he stuffed it down the back of his pants."

Officers caught up with the guys at Langara Station and stormed onto the SkyTrain.

They screamed for the "gangsters" to put their hands on their heads and pulled them off the train.

It turns out, the young men were restaurant workers on their way to a dodgeball tournament.

The name of their team is 'The Westside Gangsters.'

Police let them off with a warning after they apologized.

Shit.. for those that wondered what the smoke was on Westminster in Richmond the other night... it was a meth lab house that was going up in flames. No wonder it smelled funky

Quote:

There were certainly some signs that drew suspicion from neighbours about a house at 4871 Larkspur Ave. which was destroyed by fire Wednesday night.

Inside the house, firefighters who responded to the blaze around 6 p.m. found 30 containers of acetone, a chemical precursor found in methamphetamine drug labs.

According to one neighbour, the house on at least two occasions hosted loud and "crazy" parties that drew dozens of teens to the house in June.

"There were lots of young girls, very crazy," the neighbour said.

The witness, who has young children, was surprised to learn the house contained a drug lab.

"That's really terrible, terrible."

Another neighbour said she saw flames coming from the back of the house as she pulled up to her home and followed a fire truck, but before police arrived.

The house was frequented by "sketchy" people and cars, she said.

Another neighbour said the house was put on the market earlier this year, and the young family who had been living there were tenants who vacated when the house sold.

The house is in the midst of a quiety, family neighbourhood, and another neighbour expressed his surprise that volatile chemicals were found in the house, possibly for the purposes of cooking methamphetamine.

"It definitely surprises me," the neighbour said. "I don't know much about methamphetamine, but yes I would be concerned that it's got that explosive."

This drug lab is not far from where another meth lab was found, at 6251 Gibbons Dr., near James Thompson elementary school, in July of last year.

ZQuick question
I am flying into comox airport next month for work.
I have a 2hr10min layover at yvr on my way there and a 1hr40min layover on my way back.
Is it enough time for a friend to pick me up to go grab a bite in richmond and come back?
I guess the 1hr40min might be tight, but what about the 2hr10min layover?

Nope you won't have enough time at all. The time fly's quick and going through security and everything you will cut it way to close. Have your friend meet you at the airport and eat something there.

Hondaracer 08-24-2012 12:16 PM

My buddy had a flight with a 3 hour layover from yvr to toronto, we had enough time to go eat sushi in Richmond and have a drink in the airport before his flight, so risk it if you think u can make it

Thanks, I think this is what I'll do.
Especially since i have a meeting at 5pm on the day I fly in, cannot afford to miss my connecting flight and be late.

What's good to eat at the airport?
I crave something Asian...haha
