Yes. The one on broadway was all Philippinos when I was there 4-5 months ago
Good service, good product
Most churches even now are all TFW, the one by me on Hastings and nanaimo is so fucking ghetto, swear the few times I’ve been in there I’m like.. these people are not from around here.. lol (the customers)

You realize the Filipinos working there were also TFWs too right?
Jollibee is consistent across the 2 Vancouver locations we've tried but I'd rank it 1 lower overall compared to Church's specifically on Kingsway/Slocan which in our experience has been consistently good. Church's on Blundell is mostly a miss IMO although they had their A team on shift recently.
Churches on Slocan ftw. 41st and Fraser is a close second. All the other churches don't even come close.
Chicken lady is good, popeyes hasn't been the greatest. I still need to try Mary Browns

Into the what, 3rd week of the Canada post strike and it's impacted me.. zero?
Not getting ad's and bills in my mail box and Amazon delivering my packages at 3am?
Isn't this a bit of a use case as to why we don't need to award these people raises when CP is running 300 million dollar deficits to deliver junk mail and bills that should be online?
If this wasn't the holiday season the impact would be felt even less.
That's a pretty self-centred viewpoint you have there...
Just because you have not been impacted by the Canada Post strike doesn't mean others have not been impacted.
What about all the small businesses that have lost business because they do not have access to regular delivery services?
Seniors that receive their bills by mail?

As a result of the strike, which has seen thousands of packages and letters held up, B.C. charities haven't been able to send out their end-of-year brochures — and aren't able to receive cash or cheque donations in the mail.
Angela Chapman, Vancouver General Hospital and University of B.C. Hospital Foundation CEO, said donations to the foundation are down 15 per cent compared with the last two years.
Toronto, December 2, 2024 – The Canada Post strike, now two weeks in, has cost the small- and medium-sized business sector at least $765 million or $76.6 million each business day. At this rate, if the strike is not immediately resolved, it will have cost the sector over $1 billion as of Wednesday, warns the Canadian Federation of Independent Business (CFIB).
The province's website said it isn't able to mail ODSP cheques out or receive any documents sent by mail during the strike.
"I don't get that much money, but that (ODSP) money I do rely on to help feed my family and plan meals for my daughter and my husband and pay my bills and have a roof over my head and all that other stuff," said Wall, who lives with a disability called Fragile X syndrome.
Honda completely missed the point with that one as per usual. Services don't run deficits, they cost money because they're services. You wouldn't say the military runs a deficit. CP also covers a ton of area that private companies don't, and charge far less.
I like how Canada is supposedly riddled with crime yet having packages left outside the door at 3am isn't a problem.

You can’t give raises to letter carriers when you’re running a 300 million dollar deficit every 6 months.
I guarantee you this is not how Canada post is going to operate a decade from now. Public service or not, this is completely unsustainable going forward.
When it costs $65 to send a paper back book Vancouver to Toronto and $5 to send a letter for a hydro bill to a senior, things will change. Whether that’s privatization or a complete overhaul of the system, I GUARANTEE you Canada post will look completely different than it does now in a decade. Even completely incompetent govts like we have in Canada will eventually realize there’s no value in this model.
I’m sure there are competent countries in this world that doesn’t require disabled seniors to sit next to their front door waiting for a physical cheque to arrive..
If you let Amazon take over the service and cut delivery to once a week, I bet they could operate with a profit.

I don't think he's missing the point - it's that he doesn't care. Conservatives aren't blind to the reality of the world, they just choose to ignore it.
My parents, day by day, become more conservative and their ideas get warped more and more by social media. They blame Liberals for everything, think gov't is doing nothing but wasting money, dislike immigration (even though they are immigrants, and believe the lies that Trump tells. They only know how to complain about the things that do not work and they don't know how to appreciate the miracle of the things that do (like the great life they lead is a direct result of the gov't).
The liberal attitude is - we’re not quite yet a 3rd world country so it’s not so bad
The Canadian dream is NEVER even TRYING to do better, it’s just accepting everything is some degree of shit, and there is NEVER an opportunity to improve
It’s not even a liberal attitude, it’s a Canadian attitude to bend over and accept the norm rather than ever seek change or improvement.

Sorry, I missed your point - thought you were saying we could do without CP.
I agree that their current model is unsustainable.

Yea sorry moreso this model of endless massive losses cannot continue.
It would literally be cheaper to have someone setup a senior with an iPad and an email and teach them how to use it then deliver letters and receipts to them for a decade.

Just putting it out there. Don't believe everything your hear on the news about Canada Post's $3B loss. That was actually money they spent. CP built a brand new big sorting facility in Scarborough, hundreds of new EVs and implementing as new sorting and delivery system that doesn't work and is one of the key points the union is fighting against
The problem is that the union isn't drawing much public support and/or not impacting the Canadian economy, as with the CP/CN strike or the longshoremen.
It seems most people I know are in a similar position as Honda Racer. The Post being on strike hasn't impacted them in the slightest. It just goes to show how redundant their services have become.
