TBH I don't know where else is great anymore. I always liked the pourhouse burger years ago when I went often ish, hawksworth had a great burger, but that unfortunately came with being in hawksworth and alibi room had a really good, not great burger, but the beer list that came with it bumped it up into great category.

I concur with this, The Gull is my personal favorite burger/fries combo in Vancouver, they have it down perfect. A good basic burger, and fantastic Kennebec style fries.

Pourhouse is good, but their burger has too much going on, I don't need a bunch of extra shit on my burger.

I enjoy Between2Buns too because the owner is cool, but their burger is way too expensive for a basic smashy, bloody $14 for a double cheeseburger, and that's for the burger only.

Bin4 after 9PM sucks tremendously at the Brentwood location. During regular hours, Granville and Brentwood are reasonably decent. But man the contrast at "happy hour" is fucking disgusting.

The one in Nanaimo is pretty good.

The one in Saanich is pretty good too. Good vibes, good food, and plenty of hotties.

PSA just went to Beefway to pick up some steak and holy shit Rib Eye was $29.99/lb wtf, did notice short ribs at like TNT for example was stupid expensive recently. That said, the reason for my PSA is Picanha was only $12.99/lb and the clerk said nobody buys it in the Winter so they're just selling at cost where as those few who know generally buy in the Summer. Anyway, stupid cheap for $12.99/lb go load up if you enjoy it like I do.

The Brentwood location on Boundary might as well be a completely different restaraunt.

It's literally nothing like the Main St location in terms of quality.

We're talking the Bin4 in the Accent Inn? "Bin" twice, first time it wasn't bad but the second time it was awful. Driest chicken tenders we've ever had and my burger wouldn't have survived being cooked any longer.

I get that part like who the person is but I don't see what the controversy or whatever is?

Interesting my sister's good friend from school is the CEO of his company. Really nice guy.

roastpuff 01-13-2025 12:27 PM

I don't think it's controversy? I think Manic is saying it's cool that a tech nerd is making it to the Tonight Show?

Top Sirloin Cap aka Picanha is $16.99/kg at Costco.

I don't remember if I posted here but yeah beefway really went up in pricing. Supposedly Columbus Meats has better pricing.

I went to beefway and I was shocked at the significant decrease in quality compared to previous years. Tho still fatty. The pieces I got varied so much in thickness, but $29.99/lb

I also went to Meridian but their ribeyes are too short for my liking and too lean, but thick. Max they sell is 12oz - $20.

It's nice to see a local guy on the tonight show. He is going to be showing bad bunny and Fallon new products from CES. Funny they used this picture.

The only controversy if any is the Honey fiasco that got blown up recently and some people saying Linus should have warned everyone but he has made his position clear as to why he didn't.

A Big Mac's a Big Mac but they call it Le Big Mac. I don't know what they call a Whopper cause I didn't go to Burger King but do you know what they put on French fries in Holland instead of ketchup? Mayonnaise! They drown them in it!

reminds me of:

Damn, I was at the Brentwood upper parking lot. Just got out of London Drugs, when across the driveway was this Dodge muscle car. Just parked in the handicap parking. Out steps this granny. Cane and all. She must have been in her 80's. I roll down the window and yell out, "Nice Car!!!" She's like, "Thank you........" I had a short convo with her. I bet that thing goes pretty fast. She replies, "It goes fast when I want it to." She even said, "Right on," like something to of an episode of the Mod Squad. She must have been a hot rod chick back in the day. Anyway, I hope when I'm her age, I'd be driving a TT Supra for shits and giggles.

Hondaracer 01-13-2025 05:04 PM

Being old af and driving cars that you’ll most likely crash or cause bodily harm to others is the best because who cares if your insurance goes up, you just stop driving :lol

spoon.ek9 01-13-2025 06:38 PM

this was a really cool story in case anyone here hasn't seen it

https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a6...rvation-video/

Props to grandma for loving that car for so long and also having the courage to return her car to Mazda and give up her license. That certainly wasn't an easy decision. I know I'd love to do the same if Honda were interested in restoring my EF or EK! Got to give Mazda a lot of credit for putting in the effort to restore and preserve her most prized possession. All around a pretty kick ass story.

wtf. Hamster divorced after 28 years of marriage. I wonder what happened. 28 years is a long bloody time

^Recovering from those major accidents during the TG years likely changed his personality (in private) which might've contributed to this outcome.

The hardest hit are probably his kids, but at least his daughter Izzy seems to have a good relationship with him based on the DriveTribe videos they release together.
