Linus seemed pretty nervous at first, but settled in and did a great job! However, he's probably the most casually dressed guest ever on The Tonight Show... sandals with socks?! :lol |
^ i think jay leno hosted adam sandler and he started just going on with sneakers and hoodies for all his appearances. Linus did well. I just think it's tough for anyone to get fame despite you getting billions of views. first paragraph - did you know these people with millions of followers...Bella Poarch, sydney sweeney, paul mescal, kai cenat, jimmy donaldson (mr beast), yet none of us will even recognize Mr beast if we see him and when we are on amazon prime, it won't even suggest his version on squid games if we browse our streaming channels. Just an article today on van sun https://www.theguardian.com/society/...ollywood-stars or here https://www.pressreader.com/canada/t...81818584483228 |

Some geeky youtuber (with a likeable personality) that blew up showing people the latest tech, gadgets, etc. |
my youtube is weird, i didnt even know anything about "mr beast" as the no 1 youtuber till about a few months ago. That kind of content never pops up on my algorithm |

I vaguely remember tech nerds creaming their pants over a moderately attractive asian girl at NCIX |
Wasn't there a big controversy with him not too long ago? |
iirc Linus started doing NCIX reviews which turned into Linus Tech Tips, which kept going even after NCIX closed (RIP). Quote:

I was at my local Canada Computers the other day and my wife asked the staff if they were Geek Squad. The guy was so insulted. |
hahaha fun I remember the days when NCIX, ANITEC, ATTIC and other mom/pop computer shops were around. I honestly dont know how they made any money, the margins were so small. Out of high school i used to work at the ANITEC shop on kingsway building computers and trying to sell people garbage. What a different life that was. 10 bucks an hour man... take home after tax was like peanuts. Saved up the peanuts to buy a Voodoo Card |

What the damn, $10/hour? That's baller. I remember working at McDonald's for $7.00/hr, a $0.11 raise was considered "good." |

I mean, this or Chicken lady? I'd take Esther all day everyday |

Linus was told to work on video / unboxing (like kids opening xmas presents) on youtube. This started back 2008 and then he just kept going and reaping the results. I wouldn't say he 'just made it bad' suddenly. As for Mr. Beast, i still had no idea who the guy is until my nephew said OH WE HAVE to buy his chocolate. I told him i ain't supporting a youtuber and just cause his name is on a chocolate bar. While walking out of walmart, i see someone's kid with 3 mr. beast chocolate bar which his daddy bought. |
All this talk about NCIX... I am still a little shocked at how rapidly the NCIX empire crumbled -- or at least that's how it seemed to the average consumer. They have only expanded to have retail locations in Toronto for... what? a year or 2? And then before I know it, they went belly up. Quote:
And that makes me feel old... :okay: |
