thats why you gotta live every day like it's your last man. my doggie showed me that last year. He was fine in early July, nothing too bad, and by Sep 8 he was dead.

2 lousy months. Its the same with your friend... when it comes, it comes quick.

So stop being a cheap fuck, go live, go eat, go fuck, go do whatever the fuck hell you wanna do and don't let people stop you from living your dream.

how is Atic still going? they had the worst rep, but they also had the best prices. I remember ordering parts was like ordering soup from the soup nazi. holy fuck. just to save $20.

You're so right, that's exactly how it was.

First and only time I went there, I got yelled at for not being 100% efficient putting in my order, paying, getting the F out. Other people got yelled at for being too slow / too ignorant, and were openly mocked. It was terrible lol.

SkinnyPupp 01-15-2025 06:57 PM

I never went to ATIC because of that. Their prices weren't so great that the shitty service should be rewarded. Pay a few dollars more for proper service (and you'd often need it back then if something went wrong)

In the 90's a friend of mine went to ATIC to buy a CPU. He walked out when they brought one out from the back and placed it pins down on the counter. No packaging or antistatic bag. He just turned around and walked out.

Anyone ever get a FEDEX delivery delivered to a wrong address? i.e. townhouse complex and they apparently dropped it off at a diff unit but the photo of delivery does not show the damn unit #. i created a case - its a DELL monitor - but what typically happens here? am not prepared to knock on every unit door asking if they got my goddamn monitor damnit... need my 1440P 100HZ !!!!

Badhobz 01-16-2025 08:39 AM

You just swap your summers back on and then call 1800 FedEx

Bit of a dumb question for you electricians.

If I'm reading 10 amps combined across a few banks of a PDU, and the input is 208 volt triple phase power, is this calculation correct to get the wattage?

Triple phase x 10 amps x 208 volts

1.732 * 10 * 208 = 3602.56 watts

Since I don't want to use more than 80% on the circuit, I'd need at least 4320 watts of power to the PDU - not including the calculations for devices drawing more at peak usage.

Anything that I'm missing? I'm trying to calculate power needs for a datacenter renewal.

I'm an electrical tech, not an electrician, but that sounds right to me.

God. A good friend of mine passed away after two years of painful cancer treatment. He left behind a wife and a 3 year old kid. Incredibly thoughtful and generous guy. Heck of a father and husband, really cared for his family, and just everyone around him in general. Drove an ND, rode a GS - we used to ride in the mountains out in the Bay Area (met him through the work A Capella Club).

I didn't find out until I texted him to check in yesterday. Since he had relocated to LA and I had relocated to Toronto, we haven't seen each other in person for a while. His wife replied just now, and said he passed away last week. The end had come so quickly that he didn't have time to give her a list of people to contact.

It's like it's always the people who least deserve it, are the ones who have to go?

Sucks.

2024 was the first year hearing about 2 acquaintances pass away from illness/accident. In these early death cases, is it because largely due to poor health choices or mostly RnG? The friends that died were healthy and active but it appears early deaths are mostly luck based. Darts, alcohol, not exercising and drugs seem to only affect the 50+yo timeline. Makes me wanna buy the P-Car and not wait.

Go to published on main.

We only have a handful of Michelin starred restaurants in Vancouver. Half of them are boring ass sushi joints. So try the ones that are not

If you say it’s too expensive then just take a hibachi, a dungeon crab you caught from cates park and make her a meal in the forest somewhere (afterwards make sure to….finish her !!!!)

CivicBlues 01-17-2025 09:23 AM

Bacchus is always a good "old-world European-style" standby.

Dark, white tablecloths, dressed-up waiters - none of that hipster minimalist shit.

Try and get one of the 2 person side-by-side booths

punkwax 01-17-2025 09:30 AM

Go to cactus club.

*ducks westopher’s judo chop*

My back deck is 40" off the ground. Right where the stairs connect to the deck, I suspect the wood is rotting and it's just a matter of time before the stairs will collapse. Can I just find someone to help repair this via Home Depot's Home Services feature?
