So I flew down to San Diego today for day 1 of the family vacation (got my Top Gun shirt on too) and my Air Canada profile now includes that I have hearing loss so my ticket has "DEAF" noted on it (I'm not deaf but when I fly I can't understand what they say during the flight b/c it's too loud) and I got put ahead of zone 1 for boarding.

The BEST part however is when I landed they sent a WHEELCHAIR to get me from the plane. They had some lady with a tablet with my name on it and a wheelchair ready to help me off the plane. My wife could hardly stop laughing.

^ my wife tweaked her knee a couple days before a trip once and honestly the wheelchair service is pretty sweet. Connections and customs especially they'll take you through shortcuts and special lines and breeze you right through everything.

Waygu pho from Lunch Lady, hadn’t been there in ages went today a legit 10/10 every single aspect was the best I’ve ever tasted brisket, the waygu slices, and beef ball were all the most flavourful highest quality I can remember and that marrow into the pho first sip of the broth after that it was an instant like, I’ve never had better

Never been to Vietnam or Asia but this is about as good as I think you could hope for anywhere, as far as my taste buds go and what I look for in pho

I think one of the best things about pho in Vietnam is just the simplicity of the bowl tbh. it's a small portion and its good. kind of like how ppl like in n out for having a good burger. its cheap, its good, and its not too big so you can go around and eat more stuff after. what you've posted is like the Heston Blumenthal version of a burger.

Lunch lady is crazy fucking good. A guy who used to be one of my cooks managed it for a while. He said he was ashamed when I came in that he wasn't still cooking haha. He was such a fucking good cook and great FOH too.

All time favourites that are closed. Pho thang long on main st. Bao Chau was decent on Hastings. And a whole bunch of these little ones on main st that are all gone…. Those mom and pop places were so good. That one on the corner of main and 33rd or something ? Close to queen Liz… god I forgot the name. But it had a great bo ko and baguette
