Sometimes, you need to ask a quick question or point out something, but it's really not a big deal. It may be something that is newsworthy for a day or two. This would be the place to say/ask.

After reading the responses in the "Why Do You Log on to RS" thread, I realized that some people come into OT just for shits and giggles. Well, this might make it easier. If not, thread dies.

My question of the moment is, why is RS so fucking slow right now? If I stop the loading process and hit the reload button, it loads instantly.

I tried to log on a few minutes ago and it went to the server host page saying they might be preforming maintenance. But now it's back, so who really knows.

the next time that it happens, take a look at the status/address bar on the bottom left of ur browser and see which link its trying to load.
i notice theres this 1 google ad that its trying to load and it takes forever.

Is RS slow? It's fast for me. I started using a proxy cache last week, and it has sped the site up dramatically for me.

I got that, too when trying to reload. Never seen that host page before until now.

Something like Squid?

Anyway, RS speed hasn't been an issue for me till about half an hour or so ago. Seems fine now. Weird. All other sites I visit were fast.

Oh well.............

We're using CloudFlare now, so the site is being delivered through their servers. For most people in Vancouver, the site was probably quick to begin with, since the servers are in Seattle. But for everyone else, CloudFlare should speed things up, as well as keep the spammers out.

Your slowdowns could have just been a hiccup.

I think it may be the ads because it is like this for various sites for me.
RS does it, RFD does it.
I need to refresh the page and then it'll load instantly.

ps. i could also need a reformat as well. It's been almost a year and a half without one. And i've visited way to many pron sites...

How often have you seen this? Anyone else?
