Renting a car for Class 5 Road Test So my Class 5 is next week, and I need to rent an automatic car, since I've heard stories of people being screwed by evaluators over smooth vehicle operation when driving manual. However, most rental places will only rent to 21 and up,and I'm only 19. Are there any rental agencies in Vancouver who will rent to under-21, or at least a driving school that can compete with rental car rates? Thanks for any info. |
borrow your driving instructors corolla. really, no jokes. |

agree to using instructors 'rolla. |
Anyone know a decent school in addition to YD? I'm in Surrey and I don't trust those sketch as fuck EI schools. So far, Young Drivers might be the best solution, but their rates are off the website since they updated the look. |
driving school corolla FTW! |
Do those co-op or short term car rental companies let you rent under 21? ie. car2go, zipcar etc? |
Agreed with others that a driving school instructor's car would be your best option but I don't know if that option is available to you since you didn't take a course with them... Also, asking this question 1 week before your test isn't exactly the best idea. Better planning would've helped. Perhaps, go to the ICBC in Surrey as there will be a conglomerate of (East Indian) driving instructors there who are usually eager to make an extra buck...Inform them of your situation and see if they provide you with any solution. Don't do it over the phone though, most will be hesitant to provide a solid answer with someone over the phone. |
any driving instructor can lend you their car for license test for a flat rate. It doesn't matter whether you have taken lessons with them or not. |
Grab a Uhaul pick up. |

I know that most schools will offer their cars for a flat fee, including a test route pre-drive, but like I said, most don't post rates online. |

Valley Driving School I really wanted to rent a 5 ton and troll the instructor since that's techinically a class 5-7 vehicle when I took my test :fullofwin: |
Not sure about Surrey. But BestWay in Coquitlam (Lougheed & Brunette).. I've had friends do the pre-drive and test with their cars. Always good results.. not sure about the rates though... give them a call. |
ask MattZhang..he lets anyone drive his car.. |

It's nice if the driving instructor lends you his car. You could pay them as a rental fee but not all of them will take it because their insurance and car is on the line. Posted via RS Mobile |
