Mt baker next weekend! Excited, first time going!

Any recommendations for runs and views etc etc, what to look out for?

Has anyone been up there since Monday? I want to go night boarding today.

I went on Saturday night and got drenched in rain!

Look at the weather forecast before going to any mountain. I was at cypress on Saturday also and it was a great day. I left as soon as the rain started.

I was there last night, they were making snow starting early in the evening on the Eagle side the whole night. I would say the condition is actually not too bad, just remember to wear a goggle.

Chair 5 cliffs, Gunners bowl into the Canyon, the Chute and hike chair 8 and do shuksan arm. Oh and that natural half pipe near chair 5.

I use to love that place. Its like a natural terrain park. Things to boost off everywhere.

Black forest chair is the best for tree runs.

Anyone Thinking of going to cypress today? Be warned, parking is very limited. Both over flows are full and people are parked all the way until the Nordic turn off.

Damn that sounds busy. Wish the blackout period wasn't in effect :okay:

It calmed down quite a bit at 5.

Don't know about you guys, but I found it quite icy today up at cypress. There was fresh snow, but with layer of ice right underneath. My skate banana kept wanting to slip out underneath on a lot of the runs. I'm going to hold off until we get a bit more snow before heading back up again.

I noticed that also. I try to avoid going down the center of the runs and it's pretty good. It was a good day to just bomb it down the greens.

I know The Boardroom Shop on West 4th has them.

G 01-16-2012 12:28 PM

^Called them, they said they gave it to Boardroom Clearance, called them, and they said they don't have any. :fulloffuck:

TOS'd 01-16-2012 12:31 PM

^ Wut. They were 2012s....why are they clearancing them lol.

G 01-16-2012 12:56 PM

dachinesedude 01-16-2012 01:00 PM

hows the drive up to mount baker? never been there before, winter tires fwd good enough?

G 01-16-2012 01:24 PM

Going this weekend, will get back to you soon? I hope they are getting good snow like we recently got here in van...

celica-g5 01-16-2012 06:15 PM

The road up baker is a lot narrower than say cypress. Only 2 lanes. One up, one down. As long as you drive carefully, you should be fine. The only thing is that if the snow gets bad, it is the state law to have chains on your tires. If not, don't be surprised if you get turned away.
