however, the stuff you want probably will be sold already.

I went to the turkey sale on Saturday. Couldn't find anything I liked in my size. Afterwards I stopped by lonsdale boardroom and found a gigi ruf volcom jacket for $90 off.

I'm really in need of new boots for this season. I've been riding my vans for almost 5 seasons now and the liner packed in. I'm getting tons of heel lift while doing some toe side turns.

Anyone recommend any boots?
I'm eyeballing DC Judge dual boa, 32 focus boa, salomon f22.
I'm a size 8/8.5 with a narrow heel, ride all mountain but trying to learn tricks hopefully. Getting bored ripping it down to the bottom waiting for friends.

Current board setup
2011 capita indoor survival fk 154
2011 flow nxt-fse

Give the Salomon boots a try. I have weird narrow feet and the Salomon Malamutes lock my heel right in. Plus I have a few friends who have put around 150-200 super hard days on them and they're still fine.

Ride boots also fit a bit narrow if I remember correctly. 32's are built for sort of a wider foot person so they may not fit as well.

incubus 10-13-2011 09:23 AM

32 boots fit me fine. All I've used since I've started best way to find out is try em all out.

apparently season starts nov 24?! Can't wait

Tough one for me as I usually just get the gold medal card since I don't go up more than 10x a season. But I went up 11x last season!

debating if I should get a pass or not since big 5 is still going on at cypress

A pass is good, regardless of the amount of time you spend on the mountain. Not talking about the amount of time you go up to the mountain.

Even if the weather seems to be good in the city, and you make your way up to the hill then you go and spend your money on a day ticket, and find that the weather turns to piss poor rain. you can't get your money back on that day ticket.

you have a seasons? You can go up, ride till you're content and not have to worry about the money spent on a day ticket, because you've essentially paid already.

Just have to figure out which local hill you want to spend your money on for a seasons pass.

As an aside, classifieds moderators have prevented me from listing gear that I have to sell. Which is fine. So if ANYONE is interested, please just send me a private message and I can see what is available :)

Isn't too late to get one? I'm contemplating getting a cypress one but price seems kinda steep

Grouse vs seymor? Which would be better

it's never too late to get a pass, they sell them year round. However it's too late to get on board an earlybird price.

just work out the price of a pass with tax against the average price of a ticket [evenings weekends and peak] and you'll see how many times you'll ride.

if you think you want to break that amount then by all means buy one!

Grouse always always oversells it's seasons passes, so you'll be super swamped with people during peak periods, seymour always has a long line up on their main chair, so you'll be swamped with people as well during peak periods.

Cypress is expensive, however they have highspeeds to take advantage of the people, yes they do get busy as well, but it's not as bad as grouse or seymour would be, in comparison to the line to lift ratio

TOS'd 10-13-2011 03:39 PM

Seymour is awesome if you dont go during weekends lol. I remember last year we would go fridays and mondays. No line ups or short line ups(couple mins). Weekends are when you run into problems.

fishCak3s 10-13-2011 08:36 PM

nothing is better than calling a sickie and hitting up the mountain and finding it near empty! :)

jack_dangerous 10-13-2011 09:04 PM

just a heads up to anyone looking for a seasons pass. BCIT is offering a student season pass to seymour for only $201, valid til oct 21

incubus 10-13-2011 09:16 PM

Was contemplating the silver pass as well when it was 450 after tax. But I didn't like the jan/feb weekend restriction.

incubus 10-13-2011 09:33 PM

im sure il go after work too and itll be nice and peaceful

Snow Show at UBC today....free admission!! Don't really know what its all about, but i am going to check it out

Is anyone getting a Whistler pass? Im thinking of picking one up from my school (SFU), but then the only challenge I have is getting up there as I have a RWD car. And on top of that shitty tires.

So if anyone has a whip, I can pitch in for gas and we can rip Whistler!

Also, anyone have experience with the Forum Destroyer board? Im think of getting one, but used... idk if that will make a big difference riding-wise, definitely price-wise.

Would anyone point me towards the right direction?

My friends and I were hoping to take a trip down to Big White, maybe Whistler. But where would we find one of those bundle deals that includes bus, accomodation and lift??

Travel agents? Website?

TIA

Thanks for the recommendation. I wanted to try out the Salomon Synapse alongside the F22, but I couldn't find any down in the states. Also tested DC Dual zone BOA, awesome boot, great articulation. Had just as good heel hold as the salomon, but weren't as comfy as the salomon. Salomon seems to wrap your whole foot snug, while the DC boot allowed my toes and front portion to move around, great boot overall though.

Ended up buying a set of 2012 Salomon F22, hope my purchase doesn't disappoint me once I get some slope time in them.
