#creepermode | How is EECE 455? Felt bad that I dropped it because I heard Vijay's class is slacked. Decided to go with 456 and 466 instead.

Some of the material is confusing. There's a lot of matrix algebra and some of it is straightforward, while some of it is quite abstract. I'm in 456 too... I chose 455 instead of 466 because I'd had enough of DSP after 369 |

in ARTs i always avoided 400 level courses cause the expectations are higher for papers and exams. I always took 300 level courses because they count for the same credits also.
not sure abt the diff between 300 and 400 level courses for other faculties

I guess if marks are the highest priority, avoiding 400 level courses might help but I find them much more interesting than 300 courses. They are much more specialized in terms of content and the selection/combination of your 400 level courses forms the final shape of your degree, where as up to 3rd year, you're just building a foundation of basic knowledge in that discipline.

Having more 400 level courses might just lower your gpa and even if you gain more knowledge from it, most likely you won't even be able to apply them to the work world.
Thats why for me, to 400 level courses

Thats why for me, to 400 level courses | Well I'm sure there's a handful of us that might want to get into some graduate school, and I think most would require some 400 level courses..

Engineering and Science undergrads are required to take certain 400-level courses. I'm surprised to hear that it's not required for Arts.

I'm pretty sure it's required... Like the last required course for an arts degree is usually a 400 level seminar course. For example mine was Econ 490.

Upper-Level Requirement
In order to fulfil the upper-level requirement, students must successfully complete a minimum of 48 upper-level credits. Courses coded 300 and above are deemed upper-level credits. >Meaning 300 levels are fine.

| Can someone clarify to me that i don't need a 400 level course? u guys kinda scared me. I'm a Sociology major and econ minor : I have fullfilled all the requirements, just never taken a 400 level course. Major in Sociology
The program requires that students complete:
SOCI 100 (6 credits)
SOCI 217* plus 3 credits of Sociology at the 200-level
SOCI 310 (6 credits)
SOCI 328 (3 credits)
6 credits from SOCI 350, 400, 414, 415
3 credits from SOCI 380, 381, 382, 383; and a minimum of 12 additional 300- and 400-level Sociology credits. Econ Minor
Students in a Major Program other than Economics may complete a Minor Program in Economics if they include, in the 120 credits required for the B.A. degree, at least 30 credits but no more than 42 credits in Economics. At least 18 of these credits must be numbered 300 or above. However, ECON 310 and ECON 311 do not satisfy the 300 or above requirement.
