Remembrance Day is on Sunday, November 11. UBC will be closed on Monday, November 12.
At least I think that is what RCubed is referring to.

Has anyone here applied for a Letter of Permission to take a course at another institution before?
I'm a third year commerce student and want to take a COMM course at Langara to transfer back to UBC.. Any words of advice?
Thanks!

I filled one out for taking a Physics course at Langara. There wasn't much to it. I went to the Science Advising office, got a form, filled it out and gave it back to them. My reason for it was because UBC wasn't offering the equivalent course during that summer.

Was it a hassle? I'm planning to take a course at Langara just because it would make the rest of my timetable so much better. Less commuting, breaks, better availability for work, etc. I'm worried they're going to be really strict of why I want to do it.

From what I remember, it wasn't much of a hassle. I just filled out an application form, and talked with the people at the front desk of the advising office. Then I think I got an email about the letter of permission later on (I can't remember exactly because this was years ago). It was a smooth process for me, but this was during the summer and I wasn't taking any courses at UBC.
It would be best to check with the Commerce Advising office. I think it's just a paperwork thing |

Because i remember wanting to do physics 100 during summer and it wasnt offered as well. Posted via RS Mobile |

But this was for summer so it might be different than during the normal school year. Decided against it tho because the course is 3 months long while ubc is only a month and a bit lol.
