But really, I went in better off than a lot of people I know (~70%) and I'm not shooting for Med school anyways. If I keep my grades from this term up I still have a shot at getting into dietetics.
That program has an awesome female:male ratio lol

Haha, its too bad you don't find psych 101 interesting. I have to admit the right-brain, left-brain stuff was kind of boring but the info regarding circadian rhythms and psychological reward systems was definately interesting to me. I still think about these concepts and how it applies to real life today.

Maybe it has to do with the teaching style of the instructor? My prof was boring as hell so I started attending my friend's instead for the whole term. The prof made every lecture worthwhile attending.

So lets say I failed a course, and got an F. If I retake that course again and pass, would that F still appear on my transcript?

My prof had a monotone voice, and monotone voices in giant lecture halls can produce catastrophic results. His lecture slides didn't apply to the midterm AT ALL, so I saw no point in going to any lectures.

I'm taking 102 next term, which is a more sociological based approach and it is the psyc course which I originally intended on registering in. Anything related to science and math, I find it really hard to grasp any of those concepts. When it comes to writing English papers however, I find that very straightfoward, for now...

To my knowledge, there is no way of removing any records from your transcript without any special reasons. Hence, a lot of people don't find a point in retaking the course unless it is a requirement.

I see. Yea, perhaps it is best to re-choose your specialization based on what you find interesting AND that you have confidence in. Last thing that you ever want to do in university is to study something that you are not motivated in.

My thoughts exactly. And with that in mind, I have an interest in politics/law in general, and I'm taking polisci courses this term and the next.

Both broken_arrow and Energy are in UBC Law, so perhaps they can give me a few pointers for a clueless first year

A fail will affect your overall GPA...which is looked at if you're planning to apply for programs...no? :S

Ah I see I see, thanks for clearing that up. I still have to do my 1st year chem/phy requirement.

Another question is, is there actually a difference in taking a course at ubc then, lets say langara difficulty wise? (This is for 1st year chem/phy)

Yeah when I helped out that year of 4th year Dietetics students with the LFS Community dinner they were telling me there were 2 guys in their class. And 0 in the 5th year class and 3rd year class.

Making a total of 2 guys in a class of 100 people.

As the saying goes, "The rich gets richer!"

Jokes aside though, I have a ton of respect for those who persevere through school and make it into tough professional schools like med and law.

Law is VERY interesting and you should definitely think about it! I never though that I would like it at first until I actually started law school and that was it. I am doing a masters now..

But its also way too early for you to worry about that akinari-kun. Enjoy your undergrad and get good grades. That way you can do whatever truly interests you in the future. You never know where life might lead you.

^if you're talking about that parkade building between thunderbird stadium and that new pharmacy building it's 7 dollars for the whole day. I believe 12 am to 12 pm.

I will park there when the 6 dollar parking lots are full.

I think thats the one. I turned into thunderbird blvd and it was the first parkade on the right. 12 am - 12pm? So I would have to leave before 12 tonight or I'll get charged another 6$ because the sign says 6$ flat rate on weekends.

Ohh you're there right now, I thought you were asking about the weekdays. Yeah it does say 6 dollar flat rate for the weekend but I'm not really sure how it works on the weekends, sorry man. By the sounds of it, I would think it's 6 dollars if you park there sat and sunday but don't take my word for it.
