Always Approved Auto Sales in Surrey, decent?

I'm looking at a car these guys have. I am always very very wary of used car lots, especially on King George and Kingsway. Something with that name also makes me antsy.

However, they have something I'm interested in, so I'll be going there to take a look. Any horror stories I should be aware of?

Always get an icbc and carfax done independently. Don't rely on their reports. Check for signs of repairs (repaint, new welds, non oem parts, etc). Occasionally good cara go through used dealers like them but not very often.

I know about the carfax/carproof, but what do you mean ICBC?

you can get an ICBC claims report done.

ICBC | Vehicle history reports

Make sure you get your mechanical checks done too... be it through some mechanic you know or BCAA

So it seems they are owned by Brown Brothers Ford/Lincoln. I guess they sell cars that aren't fit for sale at the main lot.

This one is a 01 A8L, from Alberta, with a $0 accident claim (how does that work?) and a $6k claim, from 03 and 04 respectively. 70k supposedly original miles. Is this something potentially bad?

$0 accident could mean there were not details. And do you mean miles or kms?

For a 10 year old flagship luxury sedan from Audi, I would be really really weary about buying it from some lot in Surrey. If you really have to buy it from there, I would get a independent VAG-specialized mechanic to do a full 150-point inspection plus recall checks and go over any know potential problems on that model of car before giving it a consideration.

Even the smallest electronic gremlins can costs upwards of thousands on these type of cars.

The mileage on that thing is highly suspicious as well, could be a potential rollback.

Is there any way to check, realistically, for a rollback?

Edit: Also, can anyone recommend a good shop to take the car to for an inspection?

Considering it's flagship euro car, they have security measures that keep track of mileage, for example, BMW's keeps track of the car's mileage in the car keys which checks for sync every time the car is started.

Not sure about Audi, but a VAG specialist may be able help you find out if the computer has been tampered with.
