LG Optimus 2X
 

the specs and reviews are pretty good. what do you guys think? really considering having this as my next phone (after HTC Touch Pro 2).

also, anyone knows where I can find a workable demo i can play with?

wind mobile. that is if you have to go with a budget carrier. i would pass on this phone tho. GS2 or Evo 3d is better IMO.

im currently with fido so i planned to use my fidodollars on this phone and cant consider other places. even tho rogers lineup is much better.

It's probably the best phone available from Fido. Either that or the Nexus.

not trusting the google phone for some reason. really wish fido have the 3D phones like rogers.

Had the Optimus 2X international version for 1 month. Nothing but problems. Sold it at a loss.
Go to xda forums and read about the random shut off problem, random freezes, random shut off after charging phone overnight, terrible call quality where it sounds like I'm in a parade to the other person (i flashed 5 different RILs and still couldn't find a good one), gallery and app crashes, the lcd not lighting back up after a call ends, button presses not registering when calling into voicemail. Do I need to keep going?

It's basically an incredibly unstable phone and has nothing to do with the rom. I used stock for one week and also cyanogenmod7 for 3 weeks. CM7 was better, but still suffered from random freezes and most of the above issues. People on xda have been bitching about LG not wanting to release a fix despite knowing the problems exist.

I sold and picked up a SGS2 and that is the ONLY way to go if you want a dual core android phone right now. Stay far far FAR away from the optimus 2x.

maybe i should wait til fido get some new phones. i do like the SGS2 also. anyone knows Fido will get it in the future?

iPhone 5 should come out next month on Fido if you're willing to wait. Either renew your contract then and keep the iPhone 5 or sell it at a premium and get whatever phone you want.

That's what I am planning to do.

T-Mobile native iPhone5. Meaning that just T-Mobile isn't getting a compatible iPhone5 this year.
